If it were me I would take a couple grand and go on a great vacation somewhere tropical and get married on the beach! Most resorts have some sort of wedding package that includes photography. Maybe that is somethign to look into? Good Luck! If i could do it all over again i would be really tempted to go this route.

Congrats on your decision!

I am with @totheislnds, I would totally go the destination wedding route. Maybe it’s because we didn’t have a honeymoon yet, and with a destination wedding it’s kind of built right in.

Good Luck!

We went here on our honeymoon and there were several weddings that week while we were there. This package is free with a 6 night stay at any of the Couples Resorts I believe and they have several different packages and they seem to be customizable too. http://couples.com/wedding/package-one-love.php – 6 nights with airfare would end up being around 4k (probably a little less) – i looked it up recently haha because i really want to go back to swept away. Just a suggestion! Most resorts will offer a package like this if Jamaica isn’t your ideal lcoation.

if you wante to stay stateside (not sure where you are) Charelston SC or Key West would be great places to go and elope and get a mini vacay out of it! or Vegas!!

@lilipad55:  This is the smartest decision ever!!  Sounds like you might have money saved up to do something lavish the two of you?  If so, you should really just pick somewhere crazy & do it!

We did not have a lot of money since we were preparing to move cross country, I was in school, bills, etc (living on our own).  But I came across a thing about most romantic places to elope in the US & New Orleans was on there.  We were within 8 hours driving distance.  With dress, a wedding elopement pkg that included the ceremony, pics, cake, flowers, etc, lodging for 3 nights, gas, tux, spending money… we spent about $3k.  And it was worth every penny!

A lot of resorts will do a free wedding if you stay long enough. Especially if you have no guests! We are going to a palace resort and I think they have a gorgeouscomplimentary package

This is what I really want to do, to elope and have a beach wedding (I was looking at http://www.barefootweddings.net/ in Florida).  I would love for it to be just us, but our families really want to be there and they can’t all fly to FL.  Plus mom wants a real wedding (since she’s paying most of it I can’t really complain).

Maybe in 20 years when we renew our vows ๐Ÿ™‚
