Haha I also can not wait to find all the details out! I’m sure my SO will tell me there were MANY close calls ( I’m really really good at snooping ha ha )

(it is quite unfortunate i am not superhuman and cannot both plan and suprise myself LOL! )

Haha I LOVE that, It’s to bad right! lol

I’m also sure that I will get mad at him because when I think he was saving for a ring and he tells me different I’ll prob give him the EVIL stare haha

@raye9289:  This was so fun for me!  After my Fiance proposed, it was funny to hear about all the times he told me he was “working late” when really he was ring shopping and then picking up the ring!  He also told me he was hanging out with his brother when he really took my dad out for a beer to tell him he was going to propose & asked for his blessing.  Laughing  I had NO idea!  (I knew an engagement was coming because we had talked about it, but I suspected nothing with these little fibs.  I told him this is the only time it’s acceptable to lie.  Wink)

Also, on the day we got engaged, Fiance left for work as usual – but then after I left for work, he came back to our apartment to prepare for the proposal.  He texted me throughout the day saying things about work, or complaining about a client, etc., so imagine my surprise when I came home to find our apartment sparkingly clean, dinner made, and a picnic packed!  He is NOT ordinarily a good liar, but he pulled off everything related to the proposal flawlessly.

You will love learning about the pre-proposal details!

@Ms Bookworm:  Aw that’s cute..and yes those lies are only okay for that reason haha

You gave me hope when you said He is NOT ordinarily a good liar, but he pulled off everything related to the proposal flawlessly.

because my SO cant lie for anything ( which is a good thing lol) but I always fear that ill figur things out when he trys to tell me hes doing something else haha

@Ms Bookworm:  These are the types of things I dream and fantasize about! But when SO calls and says he is working late, I know he is working late. Womp womp haha. He is SO DEFINITELY NOT SLICK at all. LOL…

@raye9289:  (it is quite unfortunate i am not superhuman and cannot both plan and suprise myself LOL! ) Haha! My mom and I were discussing the other night that this is one of the reasons why women should be the ones proposing. Pretty much because we are generally way better planners. Hehe

Out of the friends who got more genuine surprise proposals (as in either an earlier-in-the-relationship one or a completely out of the blue proposal, etc.), I am shocked at all the hints they said they missed. I would have been all over that sh*t!! Haha πŸ˜‰

But I definitely think it would be super fun to hear all of the behind-the-scenes workings after the big question day arrives πŸ™‚

You know, looking back, I am surprised that I wasn’t suspicious when my Fiance told me he was working late.  Like I said, I knew that a proposal was coming soon because we’d been together for over 4 years and had discussed a timeline – but I think his fibs were small enough that it didn’t set off any alarms for me.  Like if he had worked until 9 p.m. a bunch of times, I would have wondered what he was really doing – but it was just a couple hours late a few times over the course of several months.  I bet your SOs are clever enough to work it out this way!  You’d be surprised.  Wink

But as soon as I walked in the door and saw that he had made dinner, packed a picnic, and was all manic/excited/nervous, I knew a proposal was coming.  Then the jig was up!  Haha Laughing

I am SOOO excited for this! SO always tells me i am oblivious to my surroundings (and i am) so i’m sure there will be tons of time i completely missed something!

I’m excited to find out who he got help from.  I have a feeling his BFF and our neighbour are in on it.  BFF because he tells him everything and he has been mentioning us getting married, neighbour because he has always told us to talk to him when picking out an engagement ring. He is super knowledgeable and has EXCELLENT taste.

You know This has honestly never come to my attention until now. Generally I don’t care about details. My memory is shotty so I forget them easily. Now that I think about think think it would be awesome to hear his side of the waiting. I know how much pressure the rest of his family is putting on him. What I want to know how does it finally feel to be done with the waiting.

Hmmmm, there have been no signs from my SO about a proposal. he has been pointing things out, like invites and future hubby etc but I’m not going overboard with the inuendoes as things will happen whenever they will. I wiswh it was soon though…..

This was without a doubt the best part. Hearing about hid family/friends reactions when he told them. The trickery he pulled to get my dad’s phone number out of my phone and ask him to dinner a night he knew I would be in class. Hearing about how nervous he was, and how it was in my apartment overnight, and checking his pocket every 2 minutes the day it actually happened. I had no idea how completely oblivious I was until he started telling me about it.

I think the best part was when, months later I was talking about it to my brother, who mentioned he was with my dad when he got the call asking him to dinner. And when my brother figured out who it was he was all like, “you know why he’s taking you outm right?” What can I say, my dad and I are oblivious together.

Fiance and I were talking about this last night (1 yr anniversary of engagement).  I was surprised when he told me how nervous he was the entire day, etc.

these little tidbits are fun to find out
