I had my son August 4, 2016, and have been breastfeeding exclusively (some pumping + bottle feeding, but nothing too extreme) since his birth. My period has yet to come back (with my daughter, who is 3.5, I didn’t get my period back until she was 18ish months), but Darling Husband and I are still having sex (maybe once/twice a week). Because we’ve never been ones for condoms (his size, my latex allergy/lube sensitivity), and I don’t do hormonal birth control, I’m not on anything. We’re not opposed to having more kids, so we’re not even using the withdrawl method too often.
This is my question though: I’ve been having pregnancy symptoms (I think; nausea, sore boobs/nipples out of nowhere, fatigue [but that comes with a 3.5 year old and 3 month old, right?], moodiness, etc), but when I test, I just get negatives. Is it just postpartum hormonal changes causing these symptoms?
The last test I did was on 11/2, with a Clear Blue digital, and it was negative. Those are the only tests I have on hand at the moment, and I don’t want to use them all up doing random checks (I ordered some cheapie strips from amazon last night, but they won’t arrive til Monday), and I’ve also heard that they aren’t very sensitive for early pregnancy.
Last night, I was so nauseous I almost threw up while reading to my daughter before bed, and I’ve been moody af during the last week. Should I wait til Monday for the strips, or should I make a target trip asap for some FRERs?
From everything I’ve read and been told, in the first 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding, it’s very, VERY unlikely to get pregnant, so that’s what I’ve been telling myself lol.
