racheal.nichols:  I found that diet is really what helps you lose weight so I focused more on that. I tracked my calories with My Fitness Pal (app) and kept them under the correct amount to lose some weight. For exercise, I started Couch to 5K and ran a 5K but I also didn’t do it every single week.

racheal.nichols:  I started the 21 day fix, and the eating portian plan has really helped me. I do love the work outs, but to change it up a bit I’ve been going on walks and I’m starting boxing this week.

racheal.nichols:  Oh man, when I went from being a student to having a desk job I gained a ton of weight despite actually making a bigger conscious effort to work out. When I started some serious dieting all it’s really done is stabilize my weight. I know they say it’s all about the diet but being sedentary most of the day (even with daily exercise) is the absolute worst!

I like to get exercise by doing what I love. Dancing when I can, yoga during my lunch break, joining a soccer team, playing tennis with my fiance.

Do you have access to a gym? I have a desk job and I go to the gym 3-4 days right from work and do 30-60 minutes of weight lifting and short burst cardio (hiit). At home on off days I’ve started doing Jillian Michaels too (youtube). I track my diet on MFP like the PP did and it really helps.

racheal.nichols:  Zumba’s great! Just keep going, I know your body is revolting right now but just make yourself go, even if you only dance for the first two songs you can say you did that much. I used to tell myself that on Saturday mornings. I’d look at the clock when I got there and be like “Ok two songs, thats it” and then the third song would start and it would be Pitbull or Britney and I’d get sucked into one more song. It’s one hour of your day and you’ll feel SO much better and accomplished when you’re done. Those endorphins really do kick in I swear.
