(Closed) Exercise during the TWW

I have been told by my doctor that it is totally fine, provided that you aren’t doing something completely out of the ordinary for you. I have been a runner for a few years now, and I will continue to run (or jog) until it’s no longer beneficial for me. It just makes me feel so much better.

Anyway, I’m running about 15 miles and taking 2-3 cardio classes per week during my TWW.

As mole said, I think any exercise at the beginning of pregnancy is fine as long as it is your usual routine, not starting something completely new.

@redsmarties: Good for you for doing spin! Those seats are just too uncomfortable for me. Haha.

Yikes.

Well, I am halfway through my TWW and just got back from my first spin class ever.

Hoping and praying that this didn’t shake anything loose, haha. In all seriousness, if its negative this month, I might have a hard time dealing with things.

Anyhow – I’m sure people exercise during the TWW all the time, and don’t even know that they’re pregnant.

@mole – Haha my butt will never be the same again. But I feel energized, so that’s a good thing. Ask how I’m feeling tomorrow, hahaha.

Hi ladies,, I have the same questions about working out. My doc said it was okay as long as you were doing it before hand, but that it is prob not wise to start something that ur body is not used too. I would talk to you doc about it.

I can’t imagine that it would be detrimental – I definitely plan on working on during my TWW!  Good luck!!! Wink

The other ladies are right, it’s totally okay to keep up with your normal exercise routine during the TWW. I’ve also spoken to my doctor about it.

Honestly I can tell you that sticking with my exercise during the TWW is one of the only things that keeps me sane. My stress/anxiety levels are so diminished when I’m working out regularly and that’s one of the most important things during the TTC process. It’s also recommended that during a pregnancy you get regular pregnancy so it’s definitely a positive thing to have a routine in place prior.
