I’m looking for some recipes for exfoliating body scrubs. Anyone have any good recipes? I’ve read that salt and sugar are the most common but what kinds of oil should I use with it?
Any recipes/advice would be much appreciated!

@MissCanyon: I would use koser salt or rock salt and you can use it with a bath oil that you like the smell of. I like mrs_a.valadez: suggestion of using a creamy body wash, too.

I really love ones that use a sugar base, it tends to be less harsh than salt. Salt is good for rough areas like feet, knees and elbows, but I prefer sugar scrubs everywhere else.
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground oats
- 2 tablespoons aloe vera gel
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
I really like this one. You can always skip it an ingredient you don’t have it on hand. You also grind the oats in your food processor and then mix everything together.
It could also be as simple as sugar, honey, and olive oil until you have a consistency you like. Any oil works, though! Jojoba oil and sunflower oils work very well, too. (They’re easy to find at health food stores). I like to change it up. 🙂
