Where would you prefer to have you wedding, center city, NE? $18K is a pretty good budget and I have a HUGE list of vendors. Let me know and I might be able to offer some suggestions.

Take a look at the Aldie Mansion in Doylestown.  Its not too far from Philly.  Unique & Beautiful venue.  It is a historic building with so much charm!  There are several options for ceremony spaces- both indoor and out.  We are praying for sun so the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside.  Budget is flexible- lots of options to help keep the cost down. Jeffery Miller is the exclusive caterer, but they do an amazing job: and again have so many options. Andddd you bring your own alcohol.  (selling point for us!) They have open houses every week too: no appointment necessary.  I’m getting married there next month and am so excited! Heres a link for photos and info: http://partyspace.com/provider/detail/765 good luck!

We’re getting married at Appel Farms (appelfarm.org) — untraditional venue, with indoor/outdoor spaces and lots of freedom to do what works for you

Have you looked at http://partyspace.com/philadelphia at all? I know I used them a lot when I was looking more in the city. You can put in the type of venue you’re looking for and it shows you places that fit your style. It also has vendor lists, if that helps.

@elisapros:  We are getting married at The Manor House at Prophecy Creek Park in Ambler, PA. It fits all of your criteria, except the catering… The owner of the property is Robert Fair Catering, so you’ll have to use him. It is a gorgeous venue, we fell in love with it as soon as we got there.

Good luck!!

If you liked the Mill: you should also see check out the Aldie Mansion in Doylestown (its not too far from Philly, and once you get out of city limits- you save some money)  I’m getting married at Aldie in June (23 days away to be exact!) and couldn’t be more excited.  The cost to rent the mansion varies between months, and also between days (Friday isnt as much as Saturday).  Heres a link to a helpful website: http://partyspace.com/provider/detail/765  .  It’s a beautiful space, and Jeffery A. Miller is the exclusive caterer.  We did our tasting last August and I cant wait to eat the food again in June!  All fresh, made from scratch.  You are required to bring your own booze, so thats a plus!  I was in your same position a year ago, once I started pricing everything (at one venue I wouldve paid $4 to rent each chair!) I found it cheaper and less exhausting to let the experts guide us.  We were assigned a planner when we booked the mansion, and she has helped us SO much this year.  Good luck: and I would be happy to answer any questions!

We’re getting married at the Joseph Ambler Inn in North Wales. It has a pavilion and grounds options for the ceremony. But they provide the alcohol, which isn’t what you’re looking for.

Friends of ours had their reception at the Elmwood Park Zoo in norristown.  It was awesome!!!!!
