I work in a kitchen and we have cheese stuffed breadsticks. they sounded soooo amazing so I got some on my break. After I ate them and went to work and was making the breadsticks I wanted to throw up so bad from the smell of them. It was really weird that not even 10 minutes earlier they were heaven to me.

Yesterday I made my Dad stop and buy me some peas from Red Rooster in his way over. Didn’t want anything else, just peas. Needless to say he wasn’t very impressed but he did it anyway.

When I was pregnant I always craved a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwiched between two glazed doughnuts with Dr. Pepper poured over it. I never did it because I had GD and lived a super low carb life. There are days it still sounds amazing.

Late in my first tri, and I have more aversions than cravings.  I used to eat a chicken breast with dinner almost every night, now I can barley stomach the thought of chicken in general.  Most other things just make me nauseas to think about.  I do however enjoy yogurt, fruits, vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and sprinkles and Campbell’s Vegetable soup.

I have been craving mexican food but that isnt anything out of the ordinary.

I too love to eat buttered peas! I like to mix them up in my mashed potatoes and eat it by the bowl.

I have strangely been craving anything that is a dairy-based treat – milkshakes, ice cream, yogurt.  I’m really not much of a dairy gal at all (other than cheese, which I could take or leave right now) so that is odd for me. I could have a milkshake and nothing else three meals a day right now.

Everything sounds gross except that and bland carbs.  I’m usually a meataholic, so this is a whole new world for me.

ETA – None of this is really strange, now that I’m thinking about it. Just strange for me!

@SaraP2012:  I would have eaten sugar off a spoon near the end. I dreamed about carbs every time I went to sleep!

I craved a ton of tomatoes in the first trimester. Soup, sauce, ketchup…I got them any way I could!

@kitakitten:  I couldnt eat meat for several weeks in my first tri. It still weirds me out a little bit. I found that it would really gross me out to prepare at home… like if I saw it raw and could see the fat. Gross.

I just have random cravings– at one moment I NEED Thai food, and the next I just want a Snickers.

So far, the food aversions have been MUCH worse.  The smells of cooking onions, garlic or coffee makes me vomit… which is very sad, because my husband LOVES onion and garlic, and they’re very common smells.  Do you know how hard it is to go to the grocery store or restaurant and NOT smell onion or garlic?!

Also, there’s a dining hall and coffee bar in my workplace, so I smell all of these things ever day.  I had to buy an air freshener for my office and keep my door shut sometimes to stop myself from getting sick.  PLEASE let this go away in the next few weeks, I’m dying.
