- Wedding: August 2014
Forgive me if this ends up being a jumbled mess. Basically, my fiance and I have decided to TTC (we’re two months away from the wedding and this cycle is our first one officially trying). Two cycles ago, I kind of thought I was pregnant, ended up not being and was disappointed. Which is the first time I’ve ever not been a little relieved to see my period. Last month, we weren’t really trying but we had unprotected sex during my “fertile” days (or so I thought). I wasn’t doing anything fancy, I just used an online calculator based on cycle length to predict it. Even after we had sex, I was thinking to myself that I hadn’t really been having ovulation symptoms…I felt like I had ovulated already. I still managed to convince myself that I was pregnant again lol, and of course had a full on crying fit when I did get my period (thanks hormones!).
Anyway, I had started suspecting that I was ovulating early in my cycle…which got me worried. All I ever want is to be average lol! Makes everything so much easier. So I got my period Friday May 23rd, and it lasted until Tuesday. So I paid really close attention to my body, and sure enough I was getting cramps two days later (CD7). The next day (Friday, CD8), I was having cramps and discharge that I typically associate with ovulating (thin, sticky, and a lot of it). We had sex that night, and the next day I was still having the cramps and discharge. Yesterday, (CD10) it felt like it was over. No cramps and my underwear were bone dry. So that would mean I’m ovulating around CD9 or 10. But the thing is, I’m still having a 28 day cycle, pretty much to the exact hour. From what I could find, if you’re ovulating that early, that means your cycles are just shorter, no big deal. Except mine are not shorter. Keep in mind that I’m not using any concrete form to see when I have ovulated, just paying attention to my body. So I could be completely wrong.
Continuing with my saga. Back to last night, I had waves of sharp cramps (lasted about 20 or so minutes on and off). This morning, I wiped (obviously) after peeing, I had very light pink blood mixed in with some discharge. I NEVER have bleeding outside of my period. Like, ever. I would totally notice because I’m a hypochondriac (not really, but really), and I always look after I wipe (weird habit), so I would immediately think I was dying if I saw blood not related to my period. So of course I already have my hopes up that it was implantation bleeding, but it just seems way too early for that. And apparently, you can also have bleeding like that from ovulation (so I could be totally wrong about when I’m ovulating)! Why does everything have the same goddamn symptoms?!
So I’m hoping to get some answers from anyone who knowingly ovulates early in a regular 28 day cycle. Did it cause any problems when TTC? Is it even possible? What were your symptoms and how early did you get them when you did get pregnant?
