Oh also, since there are so many passengers, dinner lines can be very VERY long. I suggest calling beforehand and making a reservation if you’re just eating in the main dining areas (the ones where you don’t pay extra)

sorry, one more thing, do some ice skating! I regret not doing that so I could say to people ‘yeah I ice skated on a cruise ship, that’s right’ lol

charr12:  with Royal Carribean you are allowed to bring 2 bottles of wine.  We did that and it was perfect. We ended up not buying a drink package because we aren’t huge drinkers.  I definitely recommend going to one specialty restauran. And as far as the pool deck, if you want to be close to the action get out there early.  Have a great trip!

I personally would not purchase the drink package if you’re not big drinkers. I’ve done it twice and each time I felt like I needed to drink a lot to get my money’s worth haha. With all the delicious food, it’s hard to eat AND drink a lot and I chose food over alcohol haha so I feel like the drink package was a bit of a waste for me. Although I will say I loved not having to think twice about whether or not I should be buying a drink! it was also a waste for us cause our ship went to a lot of ports so we spent a good amount of time off the ship

charr12:  You can buy the packages during the first day definitely. We did that on our first cruise together, which was our honeymoon. Basically I saw how much money we spent during our first hour on drinks (those fruity ones are so delicious…) and decided the package was worth it haha. We rarely drink during our normal life but love drinking on vacation. Especially when you can just walk back to your room at the end of the night!

charr12:  It definitely makes a difference! It did mean a challenging wobbly walk back to the cabin at least once but hey, it’s vacation! I just shouldn’t have worn heels 😛

Make sure they know it’s your honeymoon!

We went on a RC cruise in June to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and our 30th birthdays, we got 2 bottles of champagne, decorations, chocolate strawberries etc. They were very good to us.

OK, MY ADVICE: If you see dark navy blue towels in the gift shop with the large crown and anchor, buy them.  They’re goregous and I have not been able to find them online used, and since they’re duty free you can’t buy them off the ship :(. I regret not buying the damn towels!!

Also, we were in a suite and suite guests get a lot more amenities.  But to echo other posters, there were so many activities etc with free booze, we barely used our drink package.
