I stopped cold turkey at 13 weeks. The best part of it was my weird intense sex dreams stopped as soon as the progesterone stopped. It’s my understanding that you don’t need as much progesterone after the first trimester.

I went off at 22 weeks cold turkey. OB said I could  Stop at 20 weeks but I decided to finish off the supply… And I was nervous to stop since I do have major progesterone issues (or lack of ) I had no issues at all stopping.

The first time I stopped cold turkey at 12 weeks, no issues. The second time they said I could stop at 10 weeks, so I started weaning (every other day instead of once every day) and I started spotting so I went back to every day until 12 weeks. At my 12 week visit I had an ultrasound and everything looked great so my doctor encouraged me to go cold turkey and I did and everything was fine. I did have low progesterone both times.

I weaned off from 13 weeks to 15 weeks. My midwife had me go to one suppository a night for one week theN out half of one in for a week. I didn’t notice any symptoms.

I stopped cold turkey at somewhere between 20-24wks; I don’t rember exactly when. My OB did do a blood draw to see where my levels were without the progesterone and that’s what we went off of for determining when to stop. It was fine, and boy was it nice not having to take those darn suppositories!

Weddingobsessed: I won’t pretend to know a ton about the why everyones times would differ. I can only guess on that for myself.  I don’t know my exact level of progesterone, but my doctors words were that I “essentially have none.” Combined with four previous MCs, and I would guess that is why I stayed on it for so long. She considered taking me off at 16 weeks, but extended it to 20 to be safe.. and then I finished the supply to be even safer.

I stopped cold turkey at 12 weeks and I had no issues. I was doing suppositories twice a day, so it was nice to stop them.

I stopped cold turkey at 12 weeks and had no issues and it was so nice to not have to deal with the gross suppositories 🙂

I didn’t actually have low progesterone, but was on it as backup after an IUI and having surgery during pregnancy. I went off it around 10ish weeks, and they did tell me to wean myself by going from one a day to one every other day. I was so sick of it at that point that I kinda bs’d my weaning and ended up going more cold turkey. Man did I feel so much better after stopping. I wouldn’t recommend what I did, I just knew my levels were already high and that I had been on it only as a precaution…I’m a naughty patient. I believe I did get mine checked again after graduating to the OB and had no issues.

In my first pregnancy, I stopped cold turkey at 12 weeks, starting spotting and freaked out, so kept back on them until about week 15 I think and then weaned off every other day and faded out the supply I had left. Didn’t spot again.
