Hmmm well, I can tell you that my brother and his wife have the BOB for my niece (now 2 years old) and they LOVE it.  I dont know about the car seat or any of that stuff, but they use it a ton to go off roading on trails (they live in Napa) and they use it for jogging as well.  My brother also once rode it down a hill on his stomach like a sled.  Quite entertaining =o) They do have a smaller stroller for malls, etc.

I recommend that all parents get the infant car seat adaptor for use until the baby is able to sit on his or her own and has good enough head control to be in the seat unsupported– for walking or running.  We used it with the Britax Chaperone (though that’s supposedly not on the compatible list).  They list the compatible carseats on their site, but just know that the Chaperone is totally compatible but not on the list.

You are not supposed to run with the baby until 6 months of age, but our daughter was sitting and had great head control much younger than that.  We started gentle jogging at 3 months or so if I remember correctly.  She hates the BOB (though it’s better than any other stroller), so we mostly use our Ergo… but as she gets older I think she’ll like it better 🙂

We have a BOB revolution, the adapter & a Graco Snugride 32.  We use the BOB on walks and a used Baby Trend frame stroller for the car.  We actually just bought an umbrella stroller.  We got the BOB so that we could go hiking.  Our neighborhood has a HUGE park in it, with some steep trails.  We are holding off on that until 6 months to do that.

I think it is pretty common to have more than 1 stroller.  For instance, when we go on a road trip to my parents, we do not want to pack the BOB.

Our neighborhood is on two golf courses and we have trails to use for walking and jogging so we decided to register for the BOB and the infant adaptor. We have not decided yet if we will get another stroller for quick trips to town/etc.
