I have been thinking a lot about getting extensions for my big day after my last trip to my stylist. I have long blonde hair but it’s very fine and I plan to wear my hair down in relaxed waves (for a beach wedding!). My stylist said I could get away with only adding about 8-10 extensions (the real, bonded kind) since I don’t need to add length. The plus side to using the bonded extensions is that they can stay in for 8 weeks, so I’ll have hollywood hair for my honeymoon too!
Did any of you get extensions? If so, how do they feel? And how do they look? Do you think it made a difference?

Commenting to follow, I’ve been thinking about this too.

8-10 extensions?? That isn’t a lot at all. Usually you would need at least 50-75 bonded ones to make sure that you don’t have any gaps.
I have had extensions on and off for around 7 years. I’ve had fusion keratin (bonded) – this was my favourite kind, weave, clip in and the little ball ones (sorry, I can’t remember what they are called).
I absolutely love how they feel and look! My hair is pretty fine so they would add length and volume. PM me if you would like to see pics of the difference.

what brand bonded extensions did your stylist recommend? So cap or something else (are they strands or wefts)? 8 weeks is a very short life span for bonded strand by strand ones. As for the quantity – it really depends on your hair, but 8-10 is not much. I wear bonded extensions (great lengths brand) and my stylist puts in 75 strands for both length and volume.

I’ve been thinking about this too…not for length, but for more volume.

I wear extensions normally when I go out so that when I curl my hair, I don’t lose length. I have 24″ clip on extensions and they always look great. They match my hair colour perfectly, are made with real hair, and give me so much volume.
I’d imagine I will also do this for my wedding, though I may opt to get them sewn in so I don’t have to fuss with them.

I ordered my Remy clip in extensions from eBay yesterday. They cost me $40 and I purchased them from a seller who was recommended by a friend. I have baby fine hair so I wanted body for the wedding, and a little more.length.

Not sure on the brand, but they were super soft when she showed them to me! She said most girls wear 20-25 so they must be wider/different than you’ve used @givemecouture and @annabelle_lee .
She said 8-10 weeks before they either need to be re-set or taken out. And that they can be used again once taken out up to 3 times. Maybe they weren’t bonded ones? They had a small tab at the top that kind of sticks, and adheres to my hair. She said it would take 48 hours for the bond to fully seal.
But you ladies have never had problems with tugging or falling out? Or even swimming on the honeymoon?

The small bonded ones don’t really fall out, but they are not reusable, so for the type you’re describing I can’t really offer much info. I guess you could go to a swimming pool before wedding/honeymoon just to test them out, or, once you find out the brand google the reviews.
I get mine done every 6-5 months, at around 5 months usually there are 3-4 that would slide out if pulled, but nothing just randomly falling out. My hair is very fine, I love the length and volume I get from extensions. For the wedding I will probabbly either get an additional clip on or a chignon since I am planning an updo style.

I wanted my hair half up and half down for my wedding curled and used extensions to give my hair more volume and add more curls. They were real hair and I colored them to match my hair. They weren’t bonded..just clip in and I think they looked great! I did leave them in for atleast the next day so they definitely lasted the wedding day. I will try to find some pictures.

Don’t bind them! Your hair will fall out! Use clip-in

@Sapphire-Dreamer; Have you had a bad or heard of a bad experience with bonded extensions? If so, can you provide details?
