Fiance is 6’4″ and wants to tie a full Windsor knot for the wedding. Even the extra long ties at 63″ hit him just above the bellybutton with the full Windsor (he has a very long torso). I know the tux pants are generally worn higher but it still looks unproportionate. Any ideas on other options or stores that will sell to custom lengths?
Also, I know he will be wearing a vest that day and that will cover the bottom of the tie but I am thinking more for the reception. If he wants to take his vest off, I want him to be able to do so.

@Kir32: A locals seamstress or tailor could custom make a tie.

@julies1949: Thank you! I know we could have a seamstress make one and I’m working with one now for my sash. I can definitely ask her and she will actually have plenty of fabric left over to make one.

@Kir32: How long do you have? I have heard very good things about Sam Hober custom ties, and they are, reputedly, a very reasonable price, for very high quality. I have been told they are similar in quality of workmanship, and materials, to premium ties that cost $100 and $200, but start around $70. You choose from their fabrics, tell them length, width, and any other specifications you want to give. Such a long one would cost more because of the additional silk, but that is to be expected. Beautiesltd.com might also be able to do a custom order of that kind, but I’m not sure, and have not heard any reviews (good or bad). I can’t vouch personally for either, so you should research the reviews yourself as well, but I’ve only heard good things about Hober.

@Kir32: I just made Fiance a couple ties for Valentine’s Day. It was really easy. I’m sure a seamstress would have no problem making one for him.
