Cut out carbs for three days and you’ll lose a ton of water weight.  Cut carbs for two weeks and you’ll lose real weight and inches- esp. if you continue your workout.  It’s hard to do over the holidays, but the worst part is almost over. Good luck.

As far as dropping it quick (on the surface anyways), just cut ALL the salt and gassy foods out of your diet. In 5-7 days, you’ll be amazed at how deflated you feel. Spanx is always your friend, too =] I’ve been eating TONS of salt lately and holy crap i feel it.

Have you tried Weightwatchers?  I swear by it, and the new plan is all about low carb, high protein, high fiber…

During the holidays I also eat all the baked goods and good food…I skip the more processed holiday foods(chocolate bars, candy canes, tinned popcorn etc)…and I work out on average 4 times a week during the holidays instead of the usual three….and if i was particularly bad that week I even go to the gym on the weekend (which I hate!) and just generally push myself harder at the gym.

I am actually losing weight this holiday season. I am making sure to exercise every day. If I know I am going to a holiday celebration, I eat very lightly the day before and the day after. As for work, I have stocked up on my own treats – I keep Kellogg’s Fiber Plus bars and Del Monte Frozen Fruit Sorbets on hand for sweets, and Sonoma cheese wedges and light string cheese for non-sweet cravings. As for bloat, drink lots of water to flush it out of your system! Spark People have been very helpful with articles on how to deal with the onslaught of holiday goodies. Good luck!
