- Wedding: May 2013
I recently lost thirty pounds and had to exchange my dress for a size smaller. This dress is still too tight on me, but I kind of wonder if it wasn’t assembled as well as the first dress I had (same dress, just a different size.) I know its David’s Bridal, so it was probably factory cut and then quickly assembled, but what is bothering me about this is the boning on the right breast. It is very very obvious. I have photos from my other dress and you can still see the boning (not as much) but it just wasn’t so obvious when I first made the purchase. Do you think it could be because it’s too tight on me right now or is it just assembled poorly? Do you think it will look better once I get it altered (by somebody not Davids Bridal?) I’m living in a new city so I didn’t get any friends or family to come with me to the appointment (which made things even more overwhelming.)
I also felt very self-conscious in the dress today because of how tight it was. Right underneath the waist, the material under the tulle was bunching up and was visible. The alterations lady said it was because of how tight it was. I seriously love my dress but today I had just a real moment of doubt, especially after seeing some of the (much) more expensive dresses on this site. I think I just need that boning thing to be less visible and for it to fit correctly. Sigh. Do you have any advice or perhaps anything to calm my nerves? I just feel terrible.
The first picture is the size 10 (taken today), the second photo is of the old size 12. I went down a size because I am still wanting to lose ~15 more pounds. The wedding is May 16th 2013.
Thank you so so much ladies.
(Oh and my face in the second photo is when I tried my dress on after 4 months. I went from the worst back boobs to needing a smaller size dress. I was slightly in shock!)
