I personally am awful at spotting differences between cuts but that pic you posted In the car looks gorgeous!!! The stone looks beautiful and super clear givemesparkles :

In the car, the moissy looks super sparkly.  So I’m not sure if it is just the lighting that needed to be adjusted? I don’t know that I’ve ever seen moissy in real life, but with diamonds the way the light hits it can make a huge difference so I’d assume it’s the same? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think it’s lovely, but you should love your ring.

I vote to return it for the simple fact that you should’ve immediately loved it and you didn’t.

What is the new AGS cut? I’ve looked all over the website and I cannot find anything about it.

I have several diamonds – including an AGS 000 “Pricescope quality” one – and several moissies from different places, and my personal opinion based on your photos is that your stone is absolutely lovely. It’s not showing it’s best sparkly self in the initial photos, but in that lighting, a diamond would not either, and it still shows a very nice diamond-like cut and facet pattern as well as nice brilliance. The car photo is utterly stunning – great fire! What is impressing me most about it, based on these pictures, is how crisp the facets are and what nice contrast patterns are showing, and that is typically where, for me, moissies fall short compared to diamonds. For me, personally, that stone would absolutely be a keeper. Of course, only you can decide if it works for you.

Bear in mind, as well, that any stone – be it diamond, moissy, colored gemstone – will have lighting situations and viewing angles that are underwhelming, no matter how beautifully cut it is. I had a similar reaction to yours when I received my AGS 000 diamond. After a year of haunting these boards and Pricescope and instagram pages from superideal diamond vendors, I was so excited to get this stone and had such expectations that it would be like something magical that would be so sparkly and crisp all the time everywhere, and, and, and,……..well, that didn’t happen. It is a stunning, beautiful stone, but my expectations were unrealistic and I dealt with feeling underwhelmed and deflated that there was lighting and angles where it was just blah. There was definitely a sentiment of, “So this is it? This is what all the fuss is about?” There have actually been a couple threads on the Pricescope forum about this lately – that even superideals aren’t always “on” all the time.

Now pardon me while I slip off to MoissaniteCo to check into getting one of those babies for myself! wink
