I’d keep with your natural colour because when you dye your hair you don’t die your eyebrows too. But go to a counter and get them to try both on you and you can see for yourself 🙂

I have the same hair as you (you can see in my avatar)  and I was surprised I was told to use a dark blonde pencil. Go figure.

SLOBee:  You dont want to completely match your brows to your hair, you want your brows to be a shade darker. Anastasia Beverly Hills is the go-to brow makeup. I would suggest the brow wiz because it’s hard to mess up and easy to work with, I’d go with Chocolate, it’s a medium brown that’s rich in color. But it’s really hard to tell without a picture of yourself, you can test it out at your local Sephora or Ulta.

I would say fill them in your natural hair color. The Anastasia brow wiz is probably your best bet! I personally like to fill my brows in a little lighter than the natural color of the hair so it’s more like a shadow but definitely recommend going to try a couple different options!

The general rule for eyebrows: If your hair is light, brows should be 1 to 2 shades darker. Dark hair, brows should be 1 to 2 shades lighter. Of course, matching isn’t the end of the world, especially on medium hair. 🙂

Now for your problem specifically, I say match the brows! Don’t fill in so much that you’ve entirely changed the color. You should only be adding slight tint to fill in, not coloring it in completely. So match the brows as best as possible. If you get an auburn tinted pencil, you’d have to color in your entire brow to make all of the hairs match, and that’s no good.

But next time you’re dying it, ask about dying the brows too!

I am no help to OP, but everyone suggesting brow wiz – do their colors work well for blondes?? I currently use benefit brow pencils but they don’t last long at all. Other products I have tried are either too ashy, too red, or too green. I really have to fill my brows heavily and define them or they are invisible lol. TYIA!

NoItsBecky:  My eyebrows are non-existent, I always joke I’m a brown albino because I’m tan with no eyebrows and brown eyes. Anywho, Anastasia Brow Wiz has a great Ash Blonde! If you’re a little more advanced with makeup, I suggest Anastasia Dipbrow, it has more coverage and will last longer, but you need to be handy with a brow brush.  Sephora has their own version of Brow Wiz which you might want to try, it’s waterproof and it’s cheaper; I use it more often than the Brow Wiz because I go through so many eyebrow products. And Sephora also has a Tinted Brow Freeze that adds color while keeping  eyebrow hair in place! BUT my ALL TIME FAVORITE is Inglot Eyebrow Pencil FM. Most people haven’t heard of them because their a European brand but I’m in LOVE with their makeup. The eyebrow glides on easyily when I have to rush my makeup and it’s a lot of product compare to Sephora and Anastasia.

I would try a few colors on and see what works.  Sometimes a natural, ashy brow can look really weird with warm red hair!  It really all depends on what you’re going for though, a bit of contrast can be fun.  It’s hard to tell without seeing your face.  Right now super bold, dark brows are popular but my favorite look is soft and fluffy.  Depending on the person, sometimes I would lighten their brow color slightly (with hair bleach) and fill them in with a light taupy brown color.  It really softens facial features and gives a youthful, almost angelic look!

The Anastasia brow wiz is great, but if you’re looking for a cheaper option give the NYX micro-brow pencils a go.  I also love mac eyeshadow in omega for brows-looks good on blondes, reds, and dark browns.

I have auburn hair and brown eyebrows so that’s a natural look anyways. i agree with PPs who said to fill your brows in whatever shade best suits you

NoItsBecky:  I’m a blonde and I use the Taupe shade in the NYX Micro Brow pencil. It’s the exact same thing as the Anastasia Brow Wiz but half the price. Just a little tip.

SLOBee:  definitely check out the NYX Micro Brow pencil (can be found at Ulta and they’re buy 1 get 1 50% off right now). It’s the exact same thing as the Anastasia Brow Wiz but half the price. They have the same shade range as well. I’d probably go with the color Chocolate.

I’m a medium to light brunette and use Brow Wiz in Ash.  My only issue with Brow Wiz is how easily it breaks off.  It’s a mechanical pencil.

SLOBee:  This pomade is MAGIC. My eyebrows have never looked better. In terms of color, I’d go with the closest you can to your natural hair color, as PPs have said.

This is something that has always confused me too! I have medium brown hair but my brows are naturally almost black.

It doesn’t look bad, but it always makes me question everything when people say “If you have darker hair then your brows should be 1 to 2 shades lighter” Definitely not in my case…
