I have not yet had them done, but I have friends who have and they looked amazing. I have super sensitive skin and the glue that holds the fake lashes on is extremely irritating for me (itchy eyes, skin turns blotchy)…so for me, eyelash extensions are the way to go! I met a lady who does them and she suggested getting them put on about a month before to get used to them and having a touch up down just before the wedding…I think they look beautiful!

I am getting my done next week.  I too wear contacts and have hardest time applying fake lashes…so I am having someone else do them at a pretty reputable salon and the price was pretty good too.  Was told that they last 2-3 weeks and then would need a touch up if I wanted to continue with them – or I could just remove them.  Love your pictures – hope mine turn out like that!!

I had fake eyelash strips, along with waterproof liner and mascara. It stayed put and I did not have any problems.

I had them put on and I do not recommend it.  I tried it like 2 months before the wedding and I’m so glad I tried before and not for the actual day of.  They look pretty when you first get them on but you have to be SO CAREFUL with them, you can’t just throw soap in your hands and wash your face because the lashes are not soft they stay hard so they can keep their shape.  After a couple days mine started turning all wonky directions becaues my lashes were growing or I was sleeping on them weird I don’t know.  I couldn’t wait for them to all grow out and I would have been miserable on my honeymoon if I had them in.  My makeup artist used the strips and they looked beautiful, I’m also a contact wearer and the extensions really bothered my eyes and the strips didn’t at all.  The strips feel odd for maybe 5 minutes and then you forget they are there.

I got the individual fake eyelashes for grad back in ’08. While they were expensive, it was well worth it in my mind. They made for some great pictures!

Also, have you heard about eyelash perming? I got it done for a formal event and I loved that too. It was a cheaper and isnt irritating at all.

I got eyelash extensions a little over 3 weeks ago (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/my-lash-extensions) and I LOVE them! I do not spend money on anything….don’t do coffee shops, eating out much, nails, seriously, nothing much at all — BUT I am definitely splurging on maintaining the lashes! I LOVE waking up every morning with great lashes and I have gotten so many compliments and people are surprised when I say I bought them 🙂

I would recommend doing it ahead of time just to be sure…..I was a rare person who reacted to something, so I got puffy eyes a couple days later – I will take benedryl next time before I go in!  Even that experience isn’t bad enough to keep me from these lashes 🙂
