I have been looking into booking a destination wedding in Mexico. There I plan to snorkel, dive and party and have the most fun, and I have also been contemplating getting eyelash extensions as it would be nice to not really have to wear lots of makeup on my big day besides powder and some blush. Am I crazy thinking that I’ll be able to snorkel and do all kinds of water stuff with eyelash extensions? They would only need to last a few days of salty water time before the big day.

They will last for the activities you are interested in so long as you are careful and treat them nicely (brush them out, etc.). I had them and went on vacation and sadly, they did impact my fun in that I wanted to jump off this cliff into the water and I was terrified of my extensions being ripped off so I didn’t. Laaaaaaame.

I wouldn’t with all the sand and sweat. Those are pretty much no-no’s for lash extensions.

How many days will you be there before your wedding? Can you plan some of these activities after your big day? Snorkeling you wear a mask, so they shouldn’t affect them.
I get lash extensions 2 days before I leave on any trip and they always last me a full 2weeks before they start to get thin… then I get a fill at 3 weeks when I’m home. I go in the ocean, the pool, I play beach volleyball etc and have never had an issue of them prematurely falling out.

I loved my lash extensions and swam with them all the time – the problem for me was that I always needed a towel at the pool side because after I would come out of the pool they would be so wet that I would need to pat them down. It was the same for when I took a shower. I always had a dry washloth over the top of the shower door because after I washed my face if I opened my eyes my lashes were so heavy with water it would just run into my eyes. I also had 80 lashes per eye and size 12 xtreme lashes so they were pretty full. But I LOVED them. They gave me a great “natural” look.

Why don’t you just make them the day before the wedding at your destination?:)
