I do have a few friends who have done eyelash extensions. One loves them but she had to go get them filled every few weeks, and it was expensive for all the upkeep. I also have heard you can have breakage from the extensions. Have you considered Latisse?

I worked with a girl who had insane eyelashes and I was convinced she had eyelash extensions but I didn’t want to offend her by asking. I finally just asked her, and she told me she used Latisse. That was it, I had to try it. I bought a few bottles. I just use a cheapie eyeliner brush to apply it. My eyelashes are now pretty crazy long, and fuller. If I swipe on just a coat of mascara I have gorgeous lashes, but sometimes I don’t even bother. It does take a while to see results. If you try it I’d suggest taking pics every week so you don’t get discouraged.

That’s the reason I won’t use lattise either! My eyes are green and I love them the way they are. I had extensions done for my ceremony and I loved how they looked. My lashes are light colored and not impressive. I used a groupon with great success! The girl who waxed my brows said they looked better than a lot that she has seen. I went with the dramatic set- which was the longest and fullest. It took a few hours to apply, I was tearing up the whole time from the fumes, and my eyes felt super weird after. Not painful but You can feel the weight of them on your eyelid. I wore them for half of my honeymoon. We went swimming a few times and I couldn’t even wipe my eyes properly. Even in the shower I had that happen. Taking them off was wayyyyy easier than I thought. You just use a little oil and rub and they come right off. I lonely had eos lip balm and it worked in like 20 seconds! I have yet to get my prof pics back but the pics I took came out great!

I have green eyes and this has not been an issue. All medications have potential side effects. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Don’t use real mink, unless you want real murdered animal hair on your eyes (unless they are cruelty-free and just brushing the heck out of their minks.) I use synthetic or silk lash strips because it’s easy to apply and looks natural.Β

I have had eyelash extensions done before and I just did the “fill” instead of the full set ($70 vs $250) and I really liked that! Perhaps you can get that done to try it out before? They were the individual ones that are glued on, I can’t remember the kind or the brand.

Have you considered the strip lashes for your actual day? I am going with those on the wedding day and then getting the extensions for the honeymoon. I think the strips add a lot more volume which you need to show in pictures! I guess I’ll see how much I like them at the makeup trial – the lash extensions are so light you don’t even know they are there!

I had eyelash extension done for my wedding and honeymoon, and I loved them! I got a classic set, the most natural looking. They didn’t weigh my lids down at all, and I had no weird reaction to them.

Like you, I am also a redhead with very fair brows and lashes (nearly clear!) and I didn’t tint my lashes. You couldn’t even see my light lashes, but on the wedding day I did add a coat of mascara for some extra oomph!

I LOVED the look of eyelash extensions when I got them done. But once they were off, they’d decimated my natural lashes. So if you are getting them now, and get them off (and your lashes are as delicate as mine were) then you’ll just be getting full lashes back by april/may of next year. It took a good 6 months before they were the same (I had long lashes, but thin and blonde) as before I got the extensions.

If you don’t want to keep them up, I’d recommend just doing strip lashes. You don’t want to risk ruining your lashes for 1 day. If you were going to keep them indefinitely, it would be less of an issue, but for 1 day? Nah.

I’m blonde with fair eyelashes and eyebrows and I got mine tinted and then I got extensions, synthetic ones. I LOVED them! I kept reading mixed and scary reviews on here but honestly I’d recommend it to everyone. It made a world of difference.  I even got a refill three weeks after our wedding. Not only do you not need mascara, but you also won’t feel like you need make up.

They did not damage my natural eyelashes although once they fell off it felt weird to have my short and fair eyelashes again.
