Was it worth it? Do/did you still use mascara or was/is it the equivalent to mascara? I hate mascara, I can feel it when I’m wearing it, not matter what kind I use or how lightly I apply it and it makes me want to deftly pull my eyelashes out….but I want dark eyelashes, so dye seems like the answer.

I have had my lashes tinted for years. I’ve mostly just had tints buy have also done LVL lash lifts. As a redhead my eyelashes are blonde and pretty invisible if I don’t intervene!
When they’re freshly done, I would only use mascara for a “wow” look (eg going out at night), for daily wear fresh tint is fine. I usually leave it about 8 weeks between tints so sometimes need a touch up of mascara before my next one. I used to get them done so I didn’t have to sweat all my mascara off when exercising, and I love how low maintenance they are (tints are about 20 minutes out of my life once every 2 months)

I had my eyelashes tinted for my wedding and I honestly appreciated it the most on our honeymoon. I went makeup-free when we were lounging at the beach (which was most of the time) and I look back on pics now and realize what a difference it made. It just gave my eyes this extra pop, while still looking really natural.

I’ve had my lashes tinted and lifted and love it. It’s very low maintenance (unlike extensions). I will say that it does not have the same lengthening/curling effect as mascara, though. I would still apply mascara if I was going out, but I didn’t feel the need to apply anything otherwise!

I’m a very natural person, I did it once but I wasn’t a fan of the look. My eyelashes aren’t totally blond but only the tips are. Although it defined the lashes nicely it still wasn’t like mascara and I like to be able to take off my mascara and have my natural lashes at the end of the day.

I’ve tinted my eyelashes before and I did it again in advance of my hair and makeup trial and it was great. No mascara was used, just the tint and some shorter false eyelashes. I don’t want any mascara to flake on my makeup and in the event I cry or tear up I don’t want to have to clean it up.
I do not tint my eyelashes regularly and I rarely wear makeup. I have light skin and hair so the first day the tint can look heavy but after a day or two as you wash your face (use a gentle cleanser to have the tint last longer) it will look really nice.

I do lash and brow tinting regularly. I have completely white blonde lashes and brows. I think how satisfied you’ll be depends on how much makeup you wear and how dramatic you like your lashes. Like a PP said, it doesn’t look like mascara. I even use lash serum and have long lashes and still feel this way. Maybe with a lash lift you do? Most days I still wear mascara. But it is nice for occasions when you want to lounge with no makeup and still look decent. And this past week, I had terrible allergies and watery eyes and it was nice to not wear eye makeup and look like I actually have eyelashes.

Bees who are getting eyelash tinting, where are you having this done? The same place that does your brows? My hair stylist does my brows, I guess I could ask her about lashes.
I was just thinking about this today. I hate mascara clumps. I even scrape the wand with a paper towel to get the excess off. And, I have 1,237 different brands from various beauty boxes, so it’s not a problem with a particular brand.

sassy411 : if I already got my brows done somewhere, I’d go there for lashes too. They generally use the same dye, so no need for another allergy test, and they can do brows and eye lashes at the same time while the tint is developing which saves so much more time than traveling to another appointment. And some places have offers on brows and lashes together too!

I got mine tinted once because it was a deal where it came free with a lash lift. Turned out I was somewhat allergic to it and had red insanely itchy eyes for 3-4 days. So it sucked for me. But my lashes are pretty dark naturally so I didn’t actually even need it.

mermaidbride79 : ukbea : sassy411 : Flbride19 : sierrameadow : betyl : Windborn : veganeh : thank you everyone for your responses. I tinted my eyelashes at home tonight using manic panic hair dye. I think it worked pretty well, I’m pretty happy with it, and it was really easy to do. You’re all right, it doesn’t look like mascara but I think I will like it better since I hate clumpy stuck together lashes and mascara always does that to me
