So I woke up on Tuesday, stumbled to the bathroom, and peered closely into the mirror to put my contacts in. And then I almost screamed…my eyelashes were gone! Not completely, but they were definitely shorter and jagged. There are a few longer ones at the outside corners of my eyes that are normal, but I’m confused! The only thing I can think of is that the night before I washed my face with Cetaphil for oily skin instead of the normal formula since I accidentally purchased the wrong one. But I thoroughly rinsed the cleanser off my face, so I have no clue what happened overnight!
So my wedding is in one month from today, and I don’t know if my eyelashes will grow back to normal! They are so short that I can’t really curl them with my eyelash curler, and my Maybelline Stiletto mascara is helping much.
Any recommendations for an awesome mascara or fake eyelashes??? Or how long it is going to take my eyelashes to grow back?

Your eyelashes will most likely go back to normal but it might take a month or so. Look into Novalsh eyelash extensions if you feel like you need to do something before the wedding day or you could just do the false lashes. I’m doing one or the other just because I won’t have to wear mascara. Take your vitamins – especially the Bs and hopefully you’ll see them coming back soon!

That’s so strange!! In one night your eyelashes changed or has this been a gradual thing?
I would recommend fake lashes, just not the Ardell cheapies available at most stores. Line your lashes first with a dark shadow, use clear adhesive lash glue & stick! It’s really easy, but it requires practice to get it right!

Why don’t you look into that lash prescription formula that Brooke Shields is advertising. You need a prescription and it might make your iris a little darker (according the side effects disclaimer at the end) but it is supposed to make lasher longer and thicker. Might be worth it, especially if you have brown eyes….Good luck! Remember, no one will notice but you 🙂

That’s so strange!!! I’m going to look into doing false lashes for my wedding day. Hopefully they work out for you.

I wore false eyelashes for my wedding since I have very thin eyelashes and I got a lot of compliments on my eyes. Many of them didn’t even notice that I had worn them at all, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Just get a good makeup artist and you’ll be fine.

- Wedding: June 2010 - Ceremony - First United Methodist Church; Reception - My parents' house!
I have a nervous habit where I pull out my eyebrows or eyelashes when I concentrate (without even knowing I’m doing it!!!)
My eyelashes grow back, but I do have some pretty sparse brows. lol
Apparently this is some family deal, because my great-grandmother did the same thing.

I don’t know how expensive it is, but there’s a prescription called Latisse you can get from dermatologists/plastic surgeons that makes your lashes grow. It might help, but falsies are a good way to go. Def practice if you’re going to do them yourself. And curl and mascara them after you glue to blend in with your lashes.

My sister-in-law uses latisse and it has worked wonders for her. I’ve also heard that wearing false eyelashes really makes your eyes pop in pictures…so, go for it, if that’s what you decide to do!

Oh no! I’m so sorry this happened. Have you checked with your doctor/dermatologist to see if there might be something that caused this? For the wedding, I think you might want to check lash extensions (I’ve never had them done, but they do them at my salon) or fake eyelashes. You can do the fakes yourself (MAC has some that everyone seems to love), or have them done by a MUA.

Wow that is strange–are you so stressed your lashes fell out? Are you losing hair on your head?! Are you pulling too much on your eyelids when you wash your face??
I think Latisse takes 8 weeks for results???
Definitely return your cleanser. Also, just use some stellar faux lashes. I thought they were super weird/ugly/crazy (my mom used to wear them in the 70’s so that’s what i kept picturing!!!) but they look AMAAAZING now. I have incredibly short/fine lashes and I thought fakes would look, well, fake.
In fact, here’s a pic where you can really see them! They were a lifesaver! So don’t fret too much! You can have eyelashes on your wedding day! Maybe until then just use the single pieces as fill-in or LOTS of mascara!

I think I had these on. They were by MAC, like $15. http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/spp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CAT150&PRODUCT_ID=413
Now, though, I’ve been using Ardel (yep the cheapo ones!) from Walgreens.
These are my new favorites! I don’t have a large eyelid (i’m part korean) and these look natural, yet are fluffy and full looking. http://walgreens.com/store/catalog/False-Lashes/Fashion-Lashes/ID=prod3200599&navCount=3&navAction=push-product I highly recommend them! And they’re only $4.99 =]. Make sure you use DUO adhesive. It’s the best.

Try the Latisse thing! I’ve been hearing a lot about it! If you’re not ready for that…do fake lashes! Beauty schools are really good at doing the individual ones. !

Go to a local salon and ask about eye lash extentions. You’ll be fine!

Have your eyebrows started falling out too, or have you seen more hair than normal on the shower floor? if so, you might want to get your thyroid checked. My eyelashes and eyebrows pretty much fell out because of this.
