cdncinnamongirl Thanks for the title π
I did it. I did a PRE-wedding chop!
Oh, and by the way I LOVE it!
I actually went to a new place I hadn’t been to, but one which graded their hairdressers (I went for a principle stylist at a higher cost for such a drastic chop) unlike any other salons in our town. I liked her at first, but when she asked what I wanted and I said “Drastic. Just like this *shows her photo*” And she just about gave me the you-can’t-be-serious-look my stomach dropped. Every time a stylist hasn’t liked my idea they have either talked me out of it and given me half the chop meaning awkward length hair, or tried to give me the hairstyle I wanted but either not knowing how to do it or trying (badly) to tailor it to me. It always ends up terrible and I hate it.
Bu,t to my surprise, she chatted to me about it for a while and after seeing the utter clam and seriousness of my face, and the fact Ive been wanting this for SO long, she agreed and got chopping.
I had some serious Bieber-hair going on after the main cut, but after plenty of thinning (super thick hair makes short crops difficult I realised!) and a bit of shortening, I like the outcome.
We will see how I manage to style it on my own but she took me through how to re-train my part, how to blowdry it, which parts to flatiron, what types of products and how much to use them etc. Actually, she didn’t tell me at all what brands she was using and even after I asked her during the final styling, I had to remind her to take me through the products she used! I wanted to splurge and get a few necessities because its such a drastic hairstyle, but it was refreshing that she wasn’t trying to oversell me!
Anyway, on to photos!! Enjoy!
6 months ago (what my hair has looked like for FOREVER):
Also, ignore the horrid look, this was a natural photo of my face for my weight loss diary!
1 month ago, when I wanted to lop some off to make it healthy but ended up with a mum-length cut. It was just horrid when I didn’t dry/straighten/curl it. This was after leaving the hairdresser so it was all nicely curled.
And finally, many pictures of my awesome new hair! Sorry for the pic overload, I had so much trouble finding pictures of bigger girls when I was looking for inspiration so I will post all angles!
Another thing I wanted to not is I am NOT skinny, I don’t have “strong eyebrows”, “an angular face”, high cheekbones, “elfish facial features” or an of the crap the majority of the world thinks necessary for a short cut!
I even have a double chin so “Neagh” >:P To all those people!
