So I have always had breakouts… ever since I can remember. I’ve tried everything over the counter, prescription, facials, and even a few home remedies. Latley, I’ve been washing my face with Johnson and Johnson becasue I heard it has the least amount of abrasivemess (is that a word?) and I wear tinted moisturizer (no cover up or anything) and it’s helped (still have some breakouts, probably stress from the planning).
Here’s the problem… Becasue I only have 2 months left until the big day, I’ve been going tanning. I never put the tanning lotion on my face becasue it’s so sensitive. Until I burned! I went from 7 minutes to 12 becasue I was so inaptient (back at 9 now)and the lady told me to buy the sensitive skin tanning lotion and it wont make me breakout.
WRONG! I used it once, and I’ve been broken out since! Does anyone know anything I can do to prevent it? I’ve tried and tried and tried, but I’m out of ideas…

Have you tried any products with benzoyl peroxide? Common ones are Pro-Activ and StayClear. My niece has such bad acne and I got the Equate brand of Proactiv for her as a gift and it has done WONDERS for her face. I know how stressful acne can be but two months would give you time to heal and rejuvenate new healthy skin.

See if you have time to see a dermatologist. I just went and saw one and got oral anitbotics as well as medicated gel for my face. Try not to go in the tanning bed without anything on your face, even if it’s spf of some kind. Don’t go from 7 to 12 mins. either…well I’m sure you learned after the last time. Hopefully tanning will help it clear up a little if you just don’t put on the tanning stuff. I also read somewhere that it’s a myth that the sun clears your skin up. I always thought it did but it can make you break out later on. Good luck!

Whenever I tan I cover my face, you can always add bronzer to lighter skin but I can never make a red, burnt face look good.

I would use Sunscreen on my face, have you hear of Cetaphil? Its really good SPF 15… & also, don’t have your face exposed to the sunlamps the whole time, if you bring a towel or something for some minutues, when you feel your face getting warm. Thats what i do, hope it helps.

I use aveeno spf face moisturizer. It is super lightweight, and doesn’t make me break out. And I am super prone to acne. Also, I know you have found a face wash that works for you, but I seriously have had problems for years, and find that Spectro Jel, is the best yet, and by far one of the most reasonable in pricing.
