I’ve got 282. When I was in college I used to have over 1,000 but I cut waaaay down after graduation. It’s a privacy issue for me.

    659. I’ve had it a long time and I don’t delete people. I do have some waiting to be my friend who clearly deleted me and want to be friends again though…

I have 313.  But a lot of them are people from high school. It’s funny, because they are people who never had anything to do with me in high school, but now they want to be friends. I think it’s more about nolstagia than really wanting to become friends.

A little over 500.  I know all of them, but am not neccessarily friends with all of them.  I use it as a contact list, and it has been useful to me in the past.

none! I just dont see the point in facebook, it’s to high schoolish. If I havent talked to you in 10 years. there’s probably a reason I haven’t. This worlds already full of enough fake friends. I like not having my life on display. On the other hand though it could be nice for those who have family far away.

Just a little bit under 300 for me. I go through phases where I start to delete people. A lot of them are from NOLA where I use to live for a majority of my life then some from high school and college. But I do contact all of them somehow at least once a year.

And I have a super silly rule when it comes to adding peiple. I never add them on the first meeting unless they add me first. But I will added them if I meet them a 2nd time.

@BelleriverBride:  My best friend from high school and I had lost contact 14 years ago. Her husband works for the State Department, and she moved a lot to a lot of different countries, so it was hard to keep track of her.  So about four years ago we found each other again via Facebook. I don’t know how we would have found each other if it hadn’t been for that, and now we won’t ever lose track of each other again.

19, all of them people I know in person and with whom I interact regularly. I have no patience for hundreds or thousands of people’s posts, and I have no interest in sharing my life with people I don’t know. At least not on there. It’s different here. 😀

@Loribeth:  Those type of situations are justified, but come on over hundreds of friends for some? Are they really the people who will be there for you in a time of need? I think people are just to obsessed with keeping up with the joan’s

1607. i was very active at a big university. fewer than 100 people can actually see photos/what other people post on my wall. i look at it as a platform for networking/connecting and refrain from posting anything private. but good stuff comes out of it! when a friend from alabama who i’d done a week-long summer program with was traveling through my area a year later, he crashed with me for free for 3 nights and i gave him a tour of the area. i’m in europe now and someone that i literally drank with one night 2 years ago is in a town i want to visit, and he’s offered to let me stay for free for a few nights. i helped someone get a job by connecting him to a friend who was looking to fill a position… and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. do i actively talk to all of these people? no. but why not keep them on there? most people are generous of spirit and are willing to step up and help once they know you from somewhere and are confident in the fact that you aren’t an axe-murderer 😉

@ellisrobertson:  I was wondering if someone would beat me!

I have 20 friends, all family and close friends. I used to have a lot more in the beginning of college, but I’ve since deleted almost everyone. Now I have rules about not friending coworkers or people I don’t talk to anymore (I’m a pretty private person anyway). I’d delete my facebook altogether, but it’s the only contact I have with certain family members.
