I had a facebook argument with some people who have a mutual friend in common over this thing…they SWORE it really is making money…They could never explain how…they just knew it was.

@DeaconBride: I couldn’t agree with you more! I DID do the “I like it” things. I DIDN”T have ANY IDEA though it was for breast cancer. I guess by the time the email came around to me someone had taken out the breast cancer part. I also did the Bra color thing and by no means was I ever trying to disrespect breast cancer victems/survivors. I did it all out of good heart and what I thought was a good thing..but apparently not???

I have huge respect for anyone with breast cancer but honestly I think “Breast Cancer Awareness” has turned into more of a “Fad” then anything. It’s everywhere. EVERYONE hears about “Breast Cancer awareness” but does ANYONE really know the disease behind the name??? Thats the sad thing. Breast Cancer is just the tip of the ice berg when it comes to cancer in general. Maybe instead of doing a “Breast Cancer Month” just do a “Cancer” month. Maybe then people will look behind the name and into the disease itself. Cancer is cancer no matter what name is infront of it. I think with all the judgments about how you “should” support the disease, we have taken away the real problem; Men and woman suffering everyday do to a terrible thing.

So how about next time you see a Facebook status that you don’t necessarily agree with, instead of just bashing that person for doing what they think is a good thing, use your next status as a little opportunity to educate everyone with what you may know and post a little fact on the disease. A positive voice is heard ALOT further then a negative one.

I had no idea this was about breast cancer? I even got a messgae from a facebook friend about it and the fwd didn’t say anything about it relating to the cure.
