With it being a 50/50 partnership, I’d be bothered by this too.  I don’t think the wording/being ‘excluded’ would bother me, since its’ his personal page…  as much as not being consulted on when and how we would go public.

I think he means “his own” more loosely than you’re interpreting it. It’s “his own” business vs. working directly for a different person/company

@MeiFrancis:  I agree.  I don’t think he is meaning to exclude you or implying that he is 100% of the endevour.

I think you’re reading into it. I am assuming that this is just for his newfeed/friends, so the semantics of ” well it is mine, but I also parter with X for 50-50 ideas/profit yada yada yada” was just too much. It just sounds like a post where he is declaring that he finally “made it”, in which case I would just “like” and move on.

I definitely think he’s just really excited to be working for himself rather than another company. I wouldn’t take it as anything more than that.

@echolove:  ^ agreed.  You should have been a part of the decision to make it public.

ETA:  I highly recommend getting a contract together if you don’t have one already.

I think he is just excited and it’s just his personal page. Maybe should have ‘tagged’ you in it etc. But I don’t think you should be offended.

@MeiFrancis:  +1

His poor grammar/typing bothers me more than anything. I hope you’re going to be the one writing the marketing materials and handling your social media presence lol.

I agree that he meant more along the lines of not working for a company.. and this is his personal page yadda yadda.

@echolove: I totally get that, especially if it was really the first time many people will be hearing about it.

@echolove:  If it was “our” baby then you think he would have referenced you in the post. Personally, I hate Facebook for a whole slew of reasons and miscommunication is certainly near the top (so is creepy Facebook stalking and obsessing over people you don’t even talk to…I don’t get it, but I don’t have it and never will). I would definitely be mad too, especially because it sounds like you did most of the work.
