Someone already posted this and a bunch of bees checked and said it was wrong.  Also, I checked my timeline, I don’t see any private messages there.

You’re about to get a sea of people explaining to you that it’s not true.

A lot of tech blogs online are suggesting this whole thing is happening because all the sudden you can see what’s on your wall from back when you started on FB (and for those of us who joined back when it was closed to only university/college students, this was 6 years ago) and people have become so much more strict about what they post publically on the internet now that they can’t believe they put so much private info up for all to see. I assure you that government privacy commissioners would be all over this if it was actually true.

None of the facebook “scares” are true. They aren’t going to post private messages or give people your address or blood type or anything like that. Rest easy!

I’ve had the timeline for a year.  I never had any issues or saw any private messages.  Posts from friends on my wall post were there all along no matter the old layout or the timeline.  I think people were just unaware it could be searched so far back.

Yeah, its just old wall posts. I went through all my old messages–none of them are on there.

Ah others beat me to it, but it’s not true. If it were there would be HUGE outcry about it. I checked all of mine and while some of the things posted on my wall are things I wouldn’t publicly post anymore, they’re definitely not private conversations.
