I’ve been noticing for the last few years now that my face is really, really dry. My skin is flaky on my forehead, eyebrows and around my nose. It’s only recently become a problem though. I can’t wear face powder at all because it just accents the little patches… I’ve been scrubbing my face pretty religiously for a while, but it doesn’t seem to do much of anything and to be honest, it’s really embarassing.

I use Eucerin face lotion. It’s for sensitive skin and also has a light spf in it. I have sensitive skin and eczema. It keeps the dry skin at bay so I don’t look like a pealing monster

@SouthernGirl:I’ve been using the day creme by dermae. It has hyaluronic acid which is a natural component in natural skin repair and is really really moisturizing. They carry the line at Whole Foods. It has vitamin e and aloe and is reall light and amazing. I love it.

I use Aveeno daily moisturizer with spf 15. I feel that spf is very important in any weather, especially on y our face. It isn’t greasy at all, and very lightweight.

@mwitter80: I will have to try it.
I don’t know if there is a Whole Foods store near me, but thanks for the suggestion. I may be able to find it.

actually, if your face is dry and SPF will make it worse. I’ve recently been using Peter Thomas Roth “Ultimate Creme” and it does help. I’ve used everything from $50 an ounce stuff to plain old olive oil. I oil cleanse every night, use rosewater toner (to combat the redness that comes with dryness), and then apply the ultimate creme. It works well enough for me that I can wear translucent powder but by 6 pm my face needs moisture again. But hey, I’ll take 8 hours of makeup over the none I had before lol.

I have really sensitive skin and Oil of Olay products work pretty well for me.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.
I normally just buy inexpensive drugstore products, but this one is worth the extra $$. It’s $12 a tube at Sephora!

I have dry skin too, and the dryness was making my skin produce more oil and I was breaking out. I was sick of spending 75 bucks on jars of moisturizer (though I love Clarins night cream).
Two words: bag balm. I know it looks greasy but it does wonders for dry skin and won’t make you break out. It’s seriously my go to thing for dry skin, diaper rash, cuts, burns, you name it. It’s 10 bucks and I go through one about every 6 months. Apply 2-3 times a week to a damp face before bedtime and you wake up with dewey moisturized skin. My friends make fun of me because I recommend it for everything but now they all swear by it too.

P.S. A damp face is a must before applying moisturizer because it seals in the moisture. Dry skin will suck up moisturizer and it will just sit there instead of being absorbed by thirsty skin.

I have had dry flaky face skin my whole life, to the point that I could not wear makep, powder, anything because my face just looked flaky and gross(despite daily exfoliation ect ect) . I just had a baby and postpardum my facial moisturizer (olay) just wasnt doing it anymore so I stumbled upon…..Loreal Hydra-renewal (about $7 at walmart) and im never looking back. I have been able to wear a face full of make up, or none at all without a bit of dryness of flaking. Ive tried others like “hope in a jar” from makeup counters but the results are incomparable. The first few days my face was a bit oily (for the first time in my life) but things evened out wonderfully!

Don’t scrub! Ouch! I just started using CeraVe cleanser and moisturizer. They are really gentle and they’ve worked well for me! The PM one is really smooth and soothing. I also like Olay cream. The thickness feels good when my skin is really dry.

I have increadly stupidly sensitive skin. (actually allergic to many many soaps, lotions, oils, makeup) I use the bare minerals line for everything. And it rocks. (esp the face lotion and eye lotion) I do both lotions, primer, then full face of makup everyday and it works perfectly. They have a lot of stores opening up in malls and such so if you can I would recomend going into one of the stores and getting the make over lotion and all and see if it helps you too.
