I didn’t do anything new at all with my skin before the wedding.  No new soaps, lotions, make-ups, nothing.  Since you still have plenty of time, maybe go to a salon and have a test run, just in case something irritates your skin?  You still have plenty of time that if you did have a reaction it would clear up before the wedding.

I didn’t get one for the exact reason you mentioned — they make me break out! I just established an at-home skincare regimen that I followed leading up to my wedding. Like DaneLady, I didn’t introduce anything new because my skin is really sensitive.

Is there a skin concern you’re hoping to resolve with a facial? A spa may be able to help you with some remedies if you go in for a consultation.

I would definitely not get a new one right before the wedding. IF you are sure you want to do it, then I would get an identical one like 2 months or more before (so, like, asap,) and then if your skin is fine you will *probably* be good to go. I actually did get a facial I had never gotten before, about a week before the wedding, but my skin has NEVER been allergic to anything, and I figured that was the right amount of time to get maxiumum lusture, but time enough to figure out cover-up solutions if I did break out or something.

I usually get a minor break-out after a facial, so I scheduled mine for a week and a half before the wedding. i’m so glad I did — my skin looked fabulous! I had a regular Aveda facial (essential facial, I think?) with the plant-based peel they do. Loved it!
