I’ve never had a facial, but would like to try one. So many of my friends have raved about how great they feel and how much they improve your skin. Does it live up to the hype? Do you break out afterwards? Also, do the “express” or “mini” facials do much for you, or is it better to go for the full treatment? Any input/advice is appreciated!!

oooooh facials. I love them. I am a newbie on them too… so I am not too sure on all the logistics, but I know there are certain ones that make you break out afterwards and ones that don’t.
My first one was through a salon and was amazing, and the second one I’ve had I went to a beauty school and got one for like $15 bucks!! It was still an hour and amazing, so if you don’t want to spend a lot, you could go that route!

OOH! I just had my first facial on Thursday! I have oily acne prone skin and I was very worried about breaking out. I had a salycidic acid peel with mine and it really has cute down on the oil production since. I did have one little breakout from all of the moisturizing that was done during the facial but it was nothing that was really bad. It really cut back on my redness from past breakouts and my skin is still glowing. I will definitely do one again…it was relaxing and I think it was good for my skin.

I love facials, I get one every month! It’s very relaxing and GREAT for your skin. You might break out a bit the week after because if it’s done right, all of the dirt and oil and bacteria from deep under the skin comes up to the surface. That happened to me in the beginning, but now that I get them regularly, it doesn’t happen anymore.
They can get pretty spendy, so it’s good to look for someone local (not a spa, they overcharge for EVERYTHING) and buy a bunch of them in a package, for a great discount.
My facial lady is having an internet “black friday” sale. I can’t wait!!

I had one over thes ummer that was pretty good. I liked it because she was able to tell me what I was doing wrong. All along I thought my skin was too oily and needed a harsh cleanser when in fact it was oily because of the harsh cleanser. She told me to use a milk cleanser and super hydrating moisturizer and now my skin has never looked better. I signed up for Groupon and buy them through there at a discount price because they can be costly for good ones.

@SLS79: I love a great facial. I go to the spa once every 2-3 months to destress from work and to treat myself. It’s about 120.00 each time I go but it’s money well spent. Also, my SO knows I love it so he will give me a gift card every couple of months to go or on special occassions he comes with me:0)
