I’m about 3 months out and have been wondering if maybe I should start getting facials to improve my skin before the wedding. I don’t have problem skin, but there’s always room for improvement, right? The thing is, I’ve never had a facial and don’t really know what kind of results I’ll see.
Any advice out there? Will I see enough of a difference to make it worth the money?

I did get a facial about 4 weeks before the wedding so that my skin would be in optimal condition by the time we had the wedding. I was worried (rightly so) about post-facial break outs. I got a lot of great products from my aesthetician that helped keep me fresh for the wedding.

Hey! We are date twins 🙂
I just got my first facial the other day (which was amazing!) and I talked to the esthetician about it… she suggested that I get one on the Monday before the wedding, to get a good cleaning, and that you shouldn’t get “post facial breakouts” if the facial is done properly. She said, based on my skin, that I wouldnt need one between now and then! It might be worth going for one and getting the recommendations from them on skincare and wedding skin prep 🙂 she gave me lots of tips and advice!!

I started getting facials about 6 months before but I’d been having issues with my skin for some time that I had been trying to resolve without going that route. The esthetician started me on these peels that, although they burn like crazy, have made my skin look a million times better. My skin instantly felt softer. Prior to this I’ve never had a facial–not much for that sort of thing–but it made a huge difference. Everyone that I’ve talked to says that you shouldn’t have anything done in the two weeks preceeding your wedding (stress and chemicals don’t mix!) I’ll probably have one more done about a month before the wedding.

i’ve never had a salon facial (just the at-home stuff), but from people I know…don’t try a new treatment a week before your wedding or sooner–you don’t want to risk a reaction or a breakout!

I would just do one – about 3.5 weeks before. It’s what I did. Not sure if it really made any difference, but it felt nice and relaxing!

I usually get facials about once or twice a year. My wedding is in less than two months and I’m getting my first on Thursday and then I’ll get another one just about two weeks out.
