I’d stay as you are. Although tanning is popular right now, there’s definitely an old school mindset out there that brides should never be tan, and though I don’t think that’s necessarily true, I think if you are naturally pale and you are usually pale, you should look like you on your wedding day… so that means pale.

No way! I’m pretty pale and I rocked it on our wedding day. I wanted to look like myself.

@roweboat:  I went to the tanning bed a few times.  I don’t really get that tan so I wasn’t really dark, just a little color.  I was too nervous to get the spray tan though, sometimes I’ve had that be a little hit/miss.

No never.  I’m pale and like being pale without cancer.  If you feel beautiful that way, then don’t do it!

No way. I like to work with my colouring, not against it.

Have you tried products like the Jergens natural glow?  It’s been years since I’ve used it and they probably have other versions now.  It’s not as drastic as self-tanner but just gives a little color.

No way. I was a Feb bride, but would have gone white as a sheet in the middle of July.

@roweboat:  What I didn’t like about it was the smell.  I feel like self tanner has come a long way in the last few years so maybe that has too?  Who knows.

If you are more comfortable in your natural skin tone go for it!  Don’t worry about the coworkers.

I am a white skinned redhead (real white, like see through skin). I know that personally, I look strange tan (have tried it a few times in the past because it was “cool”) there is NO way I would want to look strange like that on my wedding day (and in my pics forever!) If you tan, make sure it looks natural!

No cancer for me…I had MULTIPLE people tell me how lovely my skin looked.
