I might get an airbrush tan a couple days before the wedding, but I also want to look like myself 😉 I might just end up going with Jergins Natural Glow so that I’m not extremely pale.

I would just go with a moisturizer with a hint of bronzers, like someone above said Jergens natural glow, is a great option. That being said, I will definately be either hitting the tanning bed, I want to prevent getting horrible tan lines that stand out in my dress. My MOHs wedding pics, you can see everyone’s tan lines and it just looks horrible. Tanning beds help build up a base tan for the summer to prevent major sunburns. Also spray tans worry me, white dress, hot and humid wether….could just be asking for problems.

I posted this on another thread once… I wore a white dress to my high school prom and decided I needed to tan. (not that I got super tan or anything…)

But for my wedding it’s not happening. I’m quite pale and as I’ve grown older I’ve grown to love it.

To compare:

Paleness FTW!!! Sorry 17 y/o self… you were dumb.

(An aside… because I’m curious. Compared to 17 year old me, how old do I look now?)

No! Although I had spent some time out in the sun (with sunblock) so I wasn’t ghost white I did not spend any time in the tanning bed. I usually have a bit of color in me in the summer though, so it was normal.

@GroovyHippieChick:  hahah… so i look 16? is that a good thing? i have no idea. i’ve spent most of my life trying to look older but now i’m at that point where i want to actually look my age. but i am glad i am currently pale 🙂

Pale pls. I have auburn hair and very pale skin. I don’t actually tan at all, though I tried a couple of years ago before we went on our cruise. I guess there was a difference, but it’s cheaper to slap on sunscreen and go natural. I would also prefer not to look like a wrinkly bit of leather…ever.

i thought about this too. but, I realized I wanted to look like MYSELF on my wedding day, and i am a pale gal. I was jogging a lot during that time though and had a slight tan for that but that was it…sports bra tan line though 🙁

Plus, SO would have killed me if I wanted to tan. he is VERY against tanning beds, and so am I

Considering that skin cancer runs in my family for 3 generations now, I absolutely do NOT tan.

I spray my legs sometimes, but for the most part… I stay pale and white. And get checked each year for new/changing moles.

I didn’t. Mostly out of laziness, but I also don’t like the “fake tan” look (which to me includes people who are meant to be pale.) I wouldn’t do anything more than say, go on a couple of walks in the sunshine the week before your wedding. Natural is better imo.

I am very light skinned as well and I like it that way! My dress is super pure white so I actually think it looks really nice in combination with my skin!

Not me.  My skin tone actually changes in a big way when I tan, so I would be afraid that my dress wouldn’t look good on me anymore.  Also, skin cancer.

I am not going to, and I am also always getting comments on how pale I am! The funny thing is, I will be perfectly tan AFTER the wedding (beach honeymoon in Florida!)
