i love the ardell lashes! both the strips & the individual lashes. they are easy to apply & not super cheap or fake looking.

@SHESCOUNTRY: I wouldn’t expect them to last through a rehearsal dinner, a nights sleep, and then your wedding. The natural oils from your eye lids will eat at the glue eventually. The most I have gotten lashes to last without any lifting (usually the outer corner will lift first) is about 16 hours …

I’m not a fan of fake eyelashes, but I tried the new Falsies Mascara (can’t remember if it’s Maybeleine or Cover Girl) and it ROCKS!!!!!  I put it on and it was like kaboom…hello lashes!

@shescountry – i prefer the strips. they tend to be a little more glam than the individuals, which look more natural. plus, with the strips you can cut them down to size. also, i have found the best glue is DUO. you can buy it at sephora, drugstores, or at any MAC counter. i like it better than the glue that comes with the ardell lashes.

speaking of MAC, they also sell phenomenal falsies!

I much prefer the strip lashes, they are far easier to apply, and have a more glam look which translates better in pictures. I still use mascara (after the false lashes are applied) to blend the natural and fake lashes (I use fiberwig mascara – it forms tubes on your lashes and doesn’t come off with anything but warm water, and light pulling).

I use a set of mac lashes with duo adhesive, and they always go on easily!

I tried the Ardell ones and they were the individual ones and really hard to put on…I think I got glue in my eye! So anyways, I splurged and spend $24 on mascara from Sephora called Fiberwig it’s by a Japanese company. They make your eyelashes look sooooo long it’s great, they claim to be like ‘painted on’ fake eyelashes, I loved them! But if you are looking for great mascara for cheap, you can’t beat Maybelline’s great mascara the one with the pink tube and green top, it’s been around forever because it’s the best!;)

I like the Sonia Kashuk lashes at Target but I use the Duo waterproof eyelash glue (the glue is available both at Target and CVS).

I’m newer to false lashes, but I actually found the strip ones hard to apply. I have trouble getting the strip close to my natural lash line, so I grabbed my scissors and cut them apart.  For me, it was way easier to glue small clumps of lashes in towards the outside 3rd of my lashline (I use about 3 to 4 “clumps” on each eye) than to try to fumble with the entire strip of lashes.  I felt like I could apply them more precisely (I use tweezers to apply) than I could when I was wrestling with the entire strip of lashes.

I also heard that you should put your eyeliner and mascara on BEFORE you put your false lashes on… but I do it the other way around.  I just make sure that the glue is COMPELTELY dry before I put the rest of my eye makeup on.  I think putting the mascara on after you put the lashes on helps blend them with your natural lashes better.

I guess I do everything backwards, but it seems to work well for me. 🙂

I use Andrea brand eyelashes. I have had them stay on overnight on occasion.

I also put them on, THEN apply my makeup. I think it looks better.

Good Luck !!

I used to pay for the drug store brands like Ardell.  They used to be my favorite.  BUT, once I found these ones called Model 21 it was love at 1st wink.  Their False Eyelashes arejust as good but cost way less.  You can get 10 pairs for $5.95 when their on sale and they have specials all the time.

I tried wearing them for my makeup trials and the glue was too much and hurt.  For a recent party my girlfriends and I tried the ones from Revlon and we loved them!  I put them on myself!  They looked so awesome!
