We have our engagement photos on Friday and I am so excited! However, my nails are looking pretty sad from my last round of shellac. I’ve never tried fake nails before, but I’m wondering if I should for this? I know we’ll be taking some pictures of our rings and hands, and I want them to look as nice as possible.
Are fake nails still “in”? Will it be obvious to everyone they are fake? How much are they (general range) at a nail salon?

you should get acrylic nail extensions from nail salons (that usually do gels) as they look way more natural then straight up pasting fake nails on. These are pretty pricey thought but I think it’s worth it for your engagement pictures. You don’t want to be looking back at pictures in the future and wished you had done it for more money. I definitely recommend going for it if you don’t think your nails are in tip top shape. Maybe the more economical route will be to put on acrylic nails and choose a design that’s not complicated such as french or just do a single color!

If you’re trying to let your nails heal after shellac, getting gels or acrylics done might do more damage.
I have gel nails and I love them, mine are done with my natural nail underneath no added length, but my nails never get to this length even with shellac, they always break. Where I live gel nails are similar in price to a shellac manicure. For example the nail bar I go to Gel nails with color gel and no designs etc for a full sett is $55, to get a fill is $35. Shellac manicure is $50.
Is there a reason you stopped getting shellac maybe nail damage etc? Are you wanting your nails done for more than just these photos?
Press on nails have come a pretty long way in their appearance etc and they might be a good affordable option for nice nails for your photos without doing more damage to your nails.
