We had real lemon trees at our wedding, but had to add fake lemons since they didn’t bloom on time!
We used a bag of Christmas tree metal ornament hooks (you know, the kind you buy when you lose the string on your ornaments). Just dig one end into the fruit to pierce it, and wrap the other around a branch! No one could tell they weren’t real ๐Ÿ˜‰

The ones you bought look like they’re going to be hollow hard-plastic. You’d probably have an easier time if you found some styrofoam oranges.

But, one thing you might try, if you’re having trouble piercing it, would be to use a heated needle or awl to melt a hole. You mught alse try supergluing some green yarn to the top, and tying that to the tree.

When I get home I’ll post a pic of our lemon trees!
My parents kept them, and they’re actually bearing fruit now! Shame they’re not a fabulous fruit everyone wants to grow so they can eat ๐Ÿ˜› haha
