I’ve seen these a few times here in different places, so thought we’d put them all in one place.
I got my fake proposal around my birthday, a few months shy of our 3 year dating anniversary. We had just come back from a fun night out and we were standing by my car saying goodnight. Then he got down on one knee, used my full name, and asked me to marry him using my car key ring lol We were laughing the entire time, so it was very obviously a joke, but nonetheless, it started the crazy for me lol
What was your fake proposal like? If you haven’t had one, how do you think you would respond? (I was caught completely off guard and said, “get me a real ring and then we’ll talk about it” lol)

@Kat_Kit2000: This is funny! I like this thread. I proposed to Fiance all the time jokingly, and he did it too. The day he actually proposed he had asked me, so are we gonna get married or what? I was like when you get down on one knee and ask me the right way! To my surprise just a little while later he did!! 😀

Well, my SO has done this a few times, but the most recent we were leaving a football game with our friends. He was holding one of those cheer pom pom things. It had a hole on the handle, so he said my name and said he loves me and wants to marry me and then asked me to marry him. We were both laughing also, and then he put the pom pom on my finger. I excitedly and jokingly yell to my friends “we’re engaged!” They all laughed along with us. A little bit later, my SO had his arm around me and whispered to me “Don’t worry, i’ll ask you for real, babe.” I thought that was sweet 🙂

My So didn’t really ask but it was cute all the same. We went to his cousin’s wedding. We had been dating for two years at the time. We were loading the centerpieces into his car l. On the vase of the centerpieces we’re little plastic rings tied by a ribbon. Before I started to head back to the reception he stopped me by grabbing my hand and he slipped one of the rings on my left ring finger. He didn’t say anything but it was still sweet.

When I was 16 or so working at Arbys I was ordering my food before my shift and the general manager was taking my order and when I pulled my money out I dropped a dollar. A fellow employee noticed and bent down to pick it up and was on one knee when he went to hand it to me. The general manager said it looked like he was proposing to me. He was then referred to as my “Arby’s Fiance” after that. I still introducing him that way when I run into him when im out with friends.
I know you’re looking for fake proposing with significant others, but im still counting it :p
