I’m going to seriously start working out more to get ready for my 10/16/10 wedding. I have recently looked online at my ‘ideal’ body weight for my height/frame and it’s ridiculous. There is NO way I will ever weigh 106-111lbs! I’m 5’3″ and weigh 140 currently (gasp, yes I just said my weight out loud). My goal is to lose 20 lbs before the wedding and tone my arms. I also am ‘hippy’ and have a hard time finding jeans because i have big hips and a bubble butt, so I’d like to fit into jeans better as well!
I know I can lose the weight because I have been my dream size before and in the last 1.5 years lost a total of 40lbs. I know I am capable, just need the support. I was wondering is any other brides were struggling to lose the weight and need a support group?
I’d like to monitor my weight loss each week (weeks end on Saturday and start on Sunday), along with my measurements (Even if I don’t lose 20 lbs I want to lose inches at my hips!) You can share as much or as little as you want, I don’t judge!
If you want to join then be proud post up your height & weight and your dream wedding weight and lets help eachother with recomendations on healthy eating, best ways to lose weight, tone up and get rid of the flab! Also if you have a craving, post it here and we’ll help fight it together without anyone going nuts stuffing their face with chocolate (I’ve done it before <sigh>)!
So…who’s with me?!

I am right there with you! Fiance and I have started a raw food diet this week and we are going to excercise to see if we can lose some extra weight. Our wedding is in September but we would like to look slimmer for our engagement pictures in January.

I hear you gals. I just joined Wedding Bee and this topic popped out immediately to me. Don’t pay any attention to the ‘ideal weight’ stuff you find online. I’m convinced that they just want to sell weight loss products ; )
But I think it’s great that you gals are starting a support groups. We have to stick together!!

Yeah! I’m so glad that I have fellow Bees who are in the same position and willing to be a support group for eachother!
@ creme de violet I’m right there with you on the Ephotos! We are going to do ours when it snows outside and I’m already going to have a jacket on so I’d like my legs/butt to look slimmer!
@ Michelle Song- Welcome to Wedding Bee! Glad you are going to be on this journey with us!
Ok so I’m going home tonight and working on my elliptical for 40 minutes (I watch my DVD’s of Veronica Mars b/c Kristen Bell is my height and looks amazing, so it’s motivation and a good show!). My goal is to use the bowflex as well but I hate it so here’s hoping I have the willpower to endure it!
Also my friend has the 30 day Shred and I’m going to borrow it this week. So I’ll keep everyone updated on that as well. I have bad knees and have had surgery so I’m hoping it’s not too hard on them!

@ Creme de Violet- I forgot to ask, what exactly is a raw food diet? What does it entail?

I’d love to hop on board. My fiance and I are still long-distance and without him I have ZERO motivation. I’d like to get into a routine before the time starts slipping away!! I’m 5’6” and 160. People say “oh but you’re athletic” Uh not anymore, and I’ve packed on the poundage since my “athletic” days in hs and college!! Plus my doctor is after me to shed some of the extra “bits” I’ve acquired in the last couple of years.
@Soon2beeMrsM: random, but I LOVE Veronic Mars!!

ME ME ME!!!! I’m 5’3″ (5’4″ on a good day!) and weigh 135-140 also! I would like to get down to 120-125 and tone up. My wedding is September 18. I am curvey too, big hips and butt! I have never been great at losing weight, and get frusterated, so it would be awesome to have some support and support other in return! How will we check up with each other?
I have been doing the 30 day shred, and its tough!

I’d love to join in as well! I’d like to lose between 10 – 15 lbs before our wedding (October 2010). I’ve found that weight watchers works best for me, so I plan to start tracking what I eat.
@Allisonc – I’m the same way, I have no motivation! My Fiance and I will go on hikes together, but I need to get into a routine I can stick to on my own!

@Allisonc- VM is great, I wish it was still on, I just worked out for 68 minutes by watching 1 full episode and a little of the next episode. I find when I work out with the tv on something I like it makes it go by much faster and makes me hate it less!
@RosieGirl- I guess one way to track is just on Friday or Saturday just post your progress? You can add the topic to your favorites or subscribe via email! Have you lost any weight doing the 30 day shred? I can’t wait to get the dvd from my friend this week! Also I see we are around the same height/weight…where do you get jeans? I have the HARDEST time finding jeans that fit because I’m short AND have hips and a butt! So frustrating!
@OctoberBee- I’ve thought about Weight Watchers but sadly I don’t have the extra money. So I just try to watch what I eat as much as possible. Which obviously doesn’t always work (In less than 24 hours I ate an entire family size bag of strawberry twizzlers, I didn’t know this until my Fiance said “Hey where did all the Twizzlers go?”…woops! hence the need to work out a bit longer tonight!)
@AllisonC- Maybe we should have a 30 day Shred challenge?!

Hmm maybe if I had to account to a group of you I’d actually make it through the challenge!! Instead of sitting on my floor, visiting weddingbee while trying to fix my stupid cell phone 😛
I have a hard time finding jeans too, because of disproportionately large thighs. LOL is that too much info? My jeans usually look ridiculous because there’s way to much fabric happening around the waist, but my booty fills out the back….then they’re like, skin tight on the thighs! Ann Taylor Loft has had some nice cuts lately…my sister has no bum whatsoever but is proportionate everywhere else and found some that actually fit, though she had to order several pairs online, try them on, send the ones that didn’t work back, etc.

AllisonC thanks for the jean info! I have large thighs too and jeans always do the ugly “gather” thing in the back where my belt is! I can’t get a size smaller b/c it won’t fit my thighs or butt! UGH. I am SO glad others are going through the same hell as me.

@Soon2beeMrsM: We sound exactly the same! I buy my jeans at the buckle. The BKE brand seems to fit really well. When I buy them though, I buy them tight in the thighs (fit in the waist) because they stretch out! But I LOVE them.
