Hi Bees! Need your advice/opinion on what to wear to my baby shower on nov. 16th. It’s a Saturday and it’ll be quite cold out here. I originally was going to wear a very formal long blue glitter dress but think it might be too much for a babyshower. I just bought this blue sweater. (it’s much longer on me as I’m short…it covers my butt and looks more like a dress on me) with black maternity leggings and gray heeled boots.
What do you think? Is it too casual or would to be appropriate to wear to my own baby shower? If you have a better idea or a way to dress up this sweater that’d be great too! Thanks for ur help in advance!

@NewYearsEve: Where does that hit your legs? I have a hard time imagining it is long enough to be a dress. But I like that better than being too formal in the glitter dress! I think if you are wearing it with leggings it will be really cute!

@NewYearsEve: Because you are wearing leggings and boots, I think it will look adorable. Congrats and have fun 🙂

I think this is totally appropriate. A formal glitter dress? Not at all, I’m not even sure I understand the logic behind that lol.

I think that outfit would look great! I really like that top too. Unfortunately I’m too tall to get away with wearing a shirt like that with tights but you said you’re short so I think you can totally pull it off!

@hotpinkbride: It hits about 2-3 inches above my knee! But it definitely covers all of my butt and actually flares out a little like a dress on me because I usually wear extra smalls and I bought it in a small since that’s all they had.
@MsJ2theZ: I just don’t want to be under dressed either, but you’re right I think the long glitter dress looks to promish for my baby shower.
@As_You_Wish: Thanks! I’m glad everyone thinks its appropriate for the shower! It’s a super comfy top btw. And I have the opposite problem with everything being too long on me since I’m so short. Guess the grass is always greener on the other side lol.

@NewYearsEve: I think it depends on hor casual your parties usually are. I just had a baby shower and I wore a long cotton maxi dress but there were several guests that were dressed in jeans. I would wear whatever you feel best in (sparkly blue dresses aside ). Keep in mind there will be lots of pictures!

I think you can easily dress that up with accessories like a long necklace that hits your bump and some fun earrings!

@SaraP2012: Thanks for the advice. I usually dress up for any family parties, but everyone else is usually just in jeans. I hope this sweater and legging combo looks dressy enough.
@irin997: I was wondering what to do about a necklace because of the cowlneck…I didnt think of a long necklace! I think thatll look good! Thanks so much!
