How many fall bees went (or plan on going) strapless for their big day?
Our ceremony is outside and the reception is in an updated barn venue (without air/heat). We haven’t set a final date yet but how late in the year can brides/bridesmaids go strapless?
We are hoping for the second week of October but can push our date up to the last weekend of September if needed. I would love for the second week of October to work but I really want my BM’s in strapless gowns (long if that makes a difference). I’m not opposed to them wearing a cute cardigan with their dresses if need be though. Would the cardigans be okay if the weather gets chilly??

smalltownbigworld : I was a bridesmaid in a September wedding wearing a strapless dress and it was a bit on the chillier side (although still tolerable). A month later I was the bride in a strapless dress in October and it was 70 degrees! I don’t know where you live, but here in New England it’s all just a crapshoot at that time of year. We had coordinating pashminas in case we got cold for both weddings.

I’m getting married in December in Colorado mountains. I’m going strapless!

smalltownbigworld : My BMs had multiway dresses and wore them however they liked, I think 1 or 2 chose strapless. My dress was long sleeve tulle and backless. We got married early November in Southern California. During the day was perfect temp but as soon as the sun set we all had jackets on (outdoor ceremony and reception).

You can go strapless whenever! I’m sure I’ve seen some winter wedding photos with brides in strapless gowns, who just had a warm wrap or coat to go with their dress. Our wedding is mid-September and I’ll be strapless, although I like to dance a lot and figure I’ll be warm enough that way!

october wedding – my dress was strapless, i didn’t have a preference, this is just what i liked best when i tried on the dresses. BMs wore 1 shoulder strap dresses. i gave them the option of picking any dress they liked, they all picked the same dress.

You can go strapless year-round, because even if you have short/cap sleeves, there is an excellent chance that you’ll still need to wear a sweater of some sort to keep you warm if you’re going to be outside for a while. There’s no time of the year cutoff.

I’m strapless but our wedding is indoors. I would have preferred a long sleeved dress as i’m ALWAYS cold but couldn’t find one I liked.
Ironically, my bridesmaids are in long sleeved dresses that are the heaviest thing i’ve ever seen clothing wise. We ordered off Amazon for their dresses and figured the quality would be poor, uh, we were wrong big time! The dresses are goregous but I feel bad for how heavy they will be.

smalltownbigworld : I had a late September (fall) wedding and I, as well as all bridesmaids, were in strapless. I was however blessed with a 70 degree, beautiful day. In Northern NJ, you never know. I was pleasantly surprised. Suppose it depends how far into fall and where in the country you are. My ceremony was outdoors.

KLC216 : slomotion : concordbee :
question to you all: what did you put on when you were cold?
Wedding is in a week and the forecast says it’ll be chillier than usual.. I don’t want to be cold but I don’t have anything that will “go” with my dress. I’m in a bit of a panic! Suggestions!?

Our wedding is October 7th & Im going strapless.
We are getting married at inside a botanical conservatory because we wanted the outdoors feel without having to worry about weather & its pretty warm in there.
Our reception is next door so quick walk & if its cold wont be cold for long.
Our weather in October can be anywhere from 70 to high 50s. I figure if Im chilly at reception Ill just put FIs jacket over my shoulders.

amanda1988 : Honest answer, I have a friend making me a custom white leather jacket. I’m totally throwing it on if I get cold.
