Either option would be fine though I like the maple syrup idea better. Caramel apples seem to be pretty popular favors lately.

We had a fall themed wedding and gave our guests mini apple pies as their favor. I actually just got another rave review of them only a few days ago. Apparently they’re just as good frozen as they were fresh!

Tough choice!  I’d be happy with either.  Is there a big difference cost-wise?

I picked maple syrup but the apple pies sound awesome too!

They both sound great.. I picked the apples because there is an instant pleasure factor. But I would skip the sprinkles.. just have a pretty lable or something

I’d be happy with either – consumables always win, provided they actually taste good – but maybe the syrup’s slightly more convenient, just because it’s less perishable and guests can enjoy at their convenience? I’m just imagining a scenario where I’m flying back home the morning after the wedding and struggling to eat the favor before I leave. Anyhoo. I think you’re good either way.

@Beluga:  Agreed; I’d be happy with either, but would prefer the maple syrup to enjoy at my leisure.

OK, I know this is going to be really picky, but…..apples are the better choice.  Apples are a fall food.  Maple syrup is a spring food – it is made only in the spring.

I think both sound great!  I picked caramel apple, but I’d love it more without the sprinkles. 🙂 The pp mini apple pies sound fantastic, too (but also a bit more work, if you were to make them yourself!)

@kaitie88:  The pies came fresh from a local orchard.

Another idea is apple cider donuts. We had those as our late night snack and they were a huge hit. Couple of those in a cute bag with a custom label, I guarantee everyone would leave happy.

Maple syrup sounds great…if its real maple syrup and that’s expensive stuff. So I voted for caramel apples! NTM all maple syrup festivals are in the spring

The apples sound cuter, but more likely to be thrown out.  I voted for the syrup because I know we would use it!  It also seems less messy and you won’t have to worry about it as much (as opposed to worrying if any of the apples are rotten/melting/sour/etc).

@kaitie88: Definitely go with what you want but if you’re shooting for something less common, like you mentioned wanting above, caramel apples wouldn’t be the best option. I’ve seen them at probably close to half of the fall weddings I’ve attended. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, obviously people like them, but they’re not terribly unique. Still yummy though!
