I am currently a college student, graduating in May, and starting my first year of teaching an elementary class in August. My fiance was supposed to graduate next May (2013) and our wedding was originally set for July 2013. However, he is going to be graduating this May instead, and we were thinking about moving our wedding up to this September or October. For all you teachers ouT there, do you think this would be a difficult time to get married, with teaching and all? Any advice is welcome!

I don’t think it would necessarily be a hard time to get married, since that typically occurs on a weekend, and especially if you had it in early september, you’d have most of the summer to plan. However, if you want to have a honeymoon immediately after, I’d say it’s a no go. One of my good friends who’s a teacher got married new year’s eve, and leave got declined for her to take her honeymoon in January. Luckily she was ok with doing it belated in the summer, but something to keep in mind.

if you’re just starting your very first year of teaching, you probably have a lot of lesson plans to make, etc. i would think planning a wedding would get in the way of that.
if you don’t think it will be difficult to plan your lessons and your wedding at the same time (granted it IS elementary so it may not be too difficult to make lesson plans) then go for the sept/oct wedding. logistically speaking, summer would probably be a better time.
