My wedding is all DIY, but it is next month. I am using candlesticks and dishes from Dollartree to decorate my reception table. I am doing classic candies, candy corn, fall M & Ms, the warm colors.

I have already a tall hurricane vase I am putting my bouquet in. I am doing Bulk roses from Sams.

As I get the stuff done I will let you see what I am have done. It will be easy and fun!

Are they silk flowers? I would test out a fine tipped permanent ink marker in brown or gold to go with your fall colors to see which works best.

Are there any vineyards where you live? Grapevines are pruned in the winter and usually you can get them free. You coould make your own grapevine wreaths or pomanders- lots of tutorials online.

pomanders to hang for aisle decor or use for centerpieces

You can also likely get pieces of birch logs and tree slices free or at a very reasonable cost.

Tree slices can be used as centerpiece bases, cake stands etc.

Watch for specials on candles and other fall decor starting soon. You can pick up some great bargains at the end of every season.

If you want to use mini light strings, look at Christmas time and in the after Christmas clearance.

Always remember to check Craigslist. Many couples sell their decor after the wedding.

Did you know that you can check all Craigslist sites at the same time?

by going to                                                http://www.google.com

enter                                                          site:craigslist.org

then add what you are looking for     e.g   grapevine wreath

I look forward to seeing how your planning develops. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions that I might be able to answer.

My Boyfriend or Best Friend had a fall wedding too!  We hot glued the fake fall leaves to fishing line and suspending it over her buffet tables… Kind of looked like falling leaves.  The fishing line was cut at different lenghts to help with the effect.  She also carved pumpkins the day before to use as her table center pieces.  We used a leaf cookie cutter as a stencil to trace onto the pumpkins and carved them out by hand!  Good luck!  Fall is a beautiful time to get married!

@myownbradybunch2013:  You can actually use a cookie cutter to cut the pattern. Just push it through the flesh.

Another great idea is to print out your initials or monogram, attach it to the pumpkin then use thumbtacks to make the initial or monogram. Pull off the paper and you are done.

I love the way this looks, and you could use any leaves that you like.

How georgous are these ideas? My boss came up with my theme of fall, as he says you use natural things already in season which makes it beautiful. You will have a fabulous wedding!

@jules1949: LOL we tried that… and ended up smashing up one of the cookie cutters… thinking it was one of two problems… 1. Pumpkin had some kind of super strong flesh…. or 2. (and more likely) It was a cheap-o cookie cutter.  After that we opted for tracing them and cutting out with a knife. 🙂

We are having our wedding in fall of this year and I have done a lot of DIY.

Our centerpieces, each one is made with a different animal instead of table numbers. This one has ladybugs which is hard to see at this angle:

This one has owls:

Using these paper hearts for our aisle decor:

Our wishing tree. We are going to have fall leaf tags for people to hang:

Paper heart garland for our sweetheart table.

Our card box

Our tossing cones for the ceremony chairs.

Our candy buffet in progress!

I just came from Dollartree, I spent under $70. It looks amazing. I did a dry run right after I came home. I bought wine glasses, candle sticks, plastic leaf dishes, candy, leaves, lights for under glass, leaves, ceramic pumpkins, silk flowers, jewels in fall colors. You name I got it! I love Dollartree. I will post pictures when I finally get it perfect!

Here are some good pictures I can share. My wedding has privacy issues because we married at a healthcare facility.
