So, my guy wont go for a summer wedding…which would work best for me since I am a teacher, but fall is where we are going. An October wedding to be exact, but I cant stand the traditional fall colors of orange and red and brown and yellow. I want to go for something out of the box…honeysuckle…like a fuschia/pink, spa blue, and toffee…a lighter brown…which I am really only incorporating with the wood accents that we are doing. Any suggestions…it is hard to find pics of fall weddings that dont have the traditional colors in them. Anyone else do non-traditional fall colors????

We are getting married in October and are doing black, white and deep aqua. I didn’t hesitate because it’s not traditional fall colors. We are getting married in October because we love the the weather that month. It’s the perfect time of year to us. I don’t particularly like the fall colors but never felt pressured to use them because it’s an October wedding. Plus, as the weather keeps getting crazier, October is really like the new September.

I did fall colors in the spring! Nobody will really question your colors, I say..pick what you want!

I had an October wedding and did fuschia, blush pink, and coral. I think it looked great.

Use whatever colors make you happy. That’s the best thing about planning a wedding. 🙂

There’s no requirement that you have to do fall colors for a fall wedding! 🙂 Do what makes you happy. I did royal blue, silver, white, and a tiny hint of red for my October wedding.

I struggled with this at first. I am having a June wedding and my color is eggplant, not your traditional June color but, I am adding bright orange and bright pink to make it more summery. My point is – who cares what month it is, have the colors you want in your wedding, it really doesn’t matter as long as you are happy.

There is no rule saying you have to use seasonal colors for your wedding just because its in a certain month.
If you like X and D colors that typically is for Y month and youre getting married in R month, use them anyways. Only issue would be flowers because some are not available unless you get imported.

I’m October and we are having Purples and Deep Oranges, I love the sharp contrast between the two colours, I think you should have whatever colours you want, doesn’t matter what time of year it is, It is your wedding after all 🙂
It’s just the type of flowers you need to think about, we are having tulips which are only just available at that time of year in th UK, people see them as more of a spring flower, but I like them so I am having them in October 😀

My wedding is in November…my girls are wearing a carbon/charcoal color.. flowers are deep reds and burgundy variations of roses and ranuculus….lots of candle light. My reception is in a ballroom, I wanted a warm, glowing feel.

- Wedding: September 2013 - Lake Taghkanic State Park
We’re getting married mid-september and are either doing vintage pastels or jewel tones. Just go with whatever you love! I have to admit though it is kind of frusterating to look up inspiration for fall weddings and see only autumn foliage colors…

Anymore I think anything goes when it comes to weddings. If you don’t want fall colors go with colors you love. I think fuschia/ spa blue and toffee would look really pretty together. Woodsy with just a pop of color in the fuschia. Go for it!
