Isn’t Welsh gold extremely expensive? I think you could have something very similar to the ring you love (which is gorgeous) made custom in a different alloy for much less than the cost of the one you posted.

@chronicwhimsy:  Gotcha. It’s a beautiful ring – it would be crazy if you won it! I’m rooting for you :). But do keep looking, you can probably find something similar within budget! That flowy, organic style is pretty popular right now.

@chronicwhimsy:  Go with the simple band for now and upgrade to this band on your 5 or 10 year anniversary! That way you can start saving now and have something exciting to look forward to… and reward yourself for a successful marriage!

@chronicwhimsy:  Seriously gorgeous rings!!! Start shopping that pic to local jewelers and goldsmiths, you may be surprised to find what they could come up with! Rose gold can be manipulated into shades that could be a pretty close match to your dream ring! And I bet much much more affordable! ๐Ÿ™‚

I recommend taking a look at http://www.etsy.com/shop/anjaysdesigns for rings. she makes them in white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, and platinum. The rose gold is gorgeous. she has a lot of different and intricate designs that I think may be right up your alley. They are a lot less expensive as well!

Gemvara.com has something similar called the Atlantis Eternity Band. It’s $1797 for 14k rose gold and diamonds (or $1357 with white sapphires instead of diamonds). The price depends on the metal and stones, but you can customize it and experiment with different combinations: http://www.gemvara.com/jewelry/atlantis-eternity-band/14k-rose-gold-ring-with-diamond/1z0g6

ETA: They also have another one just called the Atlantis Band (the stones/design don’t go all the way around like in the eternity band). It’s slightly cheaper at $1489 for 14k rose gold and diamonds (or $1159 with white sapphires instead of diamonds): http://www.gemvara.com/jewelry/atlantis-band/14k-rose-gold-ring-with-diamond/b3jx2

Where in the Uk are you? I took my engagement ring into goldsmiths and they gave me a 1/2hour lecture on how impossible it would be to resize unless they charged £500 and reset it completely. I went into my local jeweler in Southend on Sea and they did it for £20 pick up the next day- they were also saying that they do custom designs (I just want a plain band so I can wear it at work so it’s lost on me) and looking at their work it is really good for a good price ๐Ÿ™‚
