If you’re going with dress 2 then just sell dress 1 and get at least a bit of money back.

Dress 2 is amazing on you! Dress one is OK. I would sell dress one

Try selling it now if you’re getting 2. If it doesn’t sell after a long time, then get the alterations and go for a shoot! Alterations will drive down the second-hand price.

Btw I love dress 2. Dress 1 looks pretty on you, but dress 2 on you makes me do a double-take, even though I have seen that sort of dress many times! Just goes to show how a dress can look fab on the right person!

I’m normally an a-line girl and dress 1 is really pretty, but dress 2 does make you look a lot slimmer and taller. It’s sexy whereas dress 1 is cute. It’s better cinched in, but still not as flattering as 2. It looks like maybe the whole bodice needs to be raised slightly so the waist is higher, but then you’d have to wear lower shoes. Forgetting the price, which one do you feel more beautiful and confident in? Wear that one.

dw4518 :  I’m sorry, dress #1 makes you look frumpy. You have a gorgeous figure that dress #2 brings out.

There’s just something about the cut of dress #1 that doesn’t work. I think it would make anyone look frumpy.

I’m not typically a fan of mermaid style dresses but dress 2 looks amazing on you, if you’re considering changing your dress then I say go for it!

The reason dress #1 makes your waist look thicker is because of the way it is gathered / bunched at the waist vs a box pleat etc.  It won’t matter how much you bring it in, it isn’t going to be as figure flattering as dress #2, which by the way looks AMAZING on you!!! And you got it on sale? even better. Sell dress #1, it really doesn’t even hold a candle to dress #2.

You do look great in both. Dress #2 is glam and a popular style, but I think the reason you feel Dress #1 is making you look short is because the skirt itself is shorter than Dress #2 – the hem doesn’t reach the floor and you don’t have the volume at the bottom like on Dress #2 making that tier (and you) look even longer. If you really want to wear Dress #1, which I can understand because it’s beautiful, I’d find out if it can be lengthened (and at what cost) to give it that bit of extra “drama”.

Good luck. You’re going to be a gorgeous bride in any event!

Looks like I’m the weird one. I love dress one. I think it’s so sweet. Dress two, while very pretty, looks like every other dress.

But YOU have to be happy.

I actually reeeeeeeally like dress 1, but agree that dress 2 looks better on you.

I hope you can find a buyer for dress 1! Who’s the designer, if you don’t mind me asking?
