I haven’t decided what I will use yet, but I saw a picture of girl in a red wool coat over her wedding dress in winter months.  I thought it was absolutely stunning!

I wish I was more help….good luck!

I kinda like the idea of a cute cardigan over the dress. But I will be wearing a pashmina over mine, even though it’s the middle of winter in Minnesota haha..

I’m bringing a sweater to the reception in case I get cold.  My aunt made a cape for me to wear with my dress for outside.

I say see how your great-grandma’s coat looks for the dress!  It could double as your something old and it might not look that huge with the dress.

I am wearing a little bolero, but I’m thinking I will need something warmer for outside. I like the idea of a different colored coat or cardigan like texas and Ginger87 suggested. I am also toying with the idea of getting a cute pair of mittens….

This was my favorite wedding accessory!

The partial fur kept me from feeling overwhelmed by the coat but still kept me warm, even though it was about 12 degrees outside!

Could you possibly alter your grandma’s fur coat to perhaps a short cape or something similar?

I also love the idea of a coloured cardigan.

I’m planning on making something like this, which I believe I found inspiration for on Etsy:

I’m doing a red wool coat (if I can find one that works with my dress) or a faux fur wrap.

I say give your grandma’s fur a shot!  It will totally keep you warm.  they can alter furs, i’m not sure how much that costs. If not I think the red coat sounds wonderful.
