Were they applying whole strips or individual lashes? Individual lashes are easier to apply sparingly so you don’t look like a crazy person. Or they need to trim the lashes so they are not extremely long.

I have long eye lashes, but have tried the false ones for costumes and things like that. After the last time I used them, I can say with 100% certainty that I will never use them again. It was October the last time and my natural eyelashes still have not all grown back from where they were yanked out with the glue and falsies.

@shannon marie:  I too was blessed with short lashes, and just got lash extensions for about $100. They look awesomeeee, didn’t hurt a bit, and took about an hour and a half. They last six weeks, and I plan on keeping up with them (because I seriously love them so much. I don’t know if I can go back to my boyish lashes).

If that seems like to much, you can always try “latisse”. I have a couple friends who use it, and they swear by it! All of their lashes look long, plush, and natural ๐Ÿ™‚

Good luck!

@shannon marie:  Side note, my SO loves them, too! He seemed put off by the idea at first, but one morning in bed (no make-up, bed-head) he said to me “I really love your eyelashes. They make you look pretty all the time”. Ermmm thanks? But I do know what he meant ๐Ÿ˜‰

@garden_bride:  I will try when I get home. My work has crazy firewalls and I can’t access the good pictures on FB. I’ll send the pic I took right after I got them, so you get the best idea.

Seriously, I love them.

@LGenz:  Another vote for individuals. I had just a few on the outside for my wedding makeup. I hate the look of full falsies, they give you a weird thick black eyeliner-like look.

It looked like this –

@shannon marie:  Do you know if the MUA used false lashes made of real human hair or not? I’ve found that the “real” ones look better and less stiff. The brand Red Cherry has some nice ones.

I love full lashes.. if you’re not used to putting them on they will be wonky and fake looking but with practice you can get them to look totally natural.. not sure what the eyeliner comment is about? You can get lashes with invisible bands..

If they’re too much, cut them in half and use the outer half only, just a bit of drama. I’d also like to say it really depends on the brand.. some of them use fakey gross stuff that looks all shiny and nasty. Red Cherry lashes are my favorite, human hair.. which sounds so gross but it’s worth it they look 100% natural on the eye.
